Saw them in New Orleans, really good show. They played like 5 songs off of Good Mourning which was sort of odd, and they closed with My Friend Peter instead of Radio which I was psyched on. Some douche nailed Dan with a drink during one of the songs.
Also people went off for Cursive, which was nice.

I wish I was able to go to Warped Tour this year, I really want to see them again (not to mention some of the other acts).
Alk3 is my favorite band ever to play guitar with. So simple but so fucking catchy.
My new project (that will most likely NEVER see fruition) is to do an all acoustic cover of all of Good Mourning.

Their sets at this year's Warped Tour are really good. Last time I checked they were closing with "97."

Matt's half of Good Mourning is some of my favourite music ever.

Really? Dan's half of GM is some of my favorite music ever.
Like, "Continental" and "All on Black" are my jams and all. But "If We Never Go Inside" and "Blue Carolina" are like double my jams.

Good Mourning in general is some of my favorite music ever, haha.

Seriously, dudes. "If We Never Go Inside." Fucking great.
Also, I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer or anything, but I'm not too excited for Damnesia. Like, I'm sure it'll be semi-cool and all, but I'm not prepared to pay full price for acoustic versions of older songs. The acoustic stuff on the deluxe edition of This Addiction was rad...but as bonus content. I'd rather see Damnesia packaged as a bonus EP with a new album.

Yeah, I didn't even pre-order the vinyl, so you know I'm not expecting too much.
I'll be more than happy to be wrong though.

The "new" version of "Clavicle" sounded awesome but I don't really care to hear an album full of songs that I've already heard. It's a cool idea but meh...

I'd be more stoked if it were A) a live unplugged-type set, or B) more like "Blue in the Face" and less "hey, we're technically using acoustic instruments" with a full on drum kit and stuff

Did you hear the version of This Could Be Love from Damnesia? They changed the song up a lot, I liked it.

Wasn't feeling it. Like I said, cool and all, but covering your own songs is kinda lame.

The Emergency Room is gonna be incredible. The demos are great.
My biggest gripe with Damnesia is that the tracklist is like, the lamest tracklist they could have picked.
I preordered the deluxe vinyl pack pretty much exclusively for the slip mat.

k, so I just looked at the track listing. I know that Dan usually has less songs on the album than Matt, but isn't this a little ridiculous? was it fan picked? why can't I ever have more Dan than Matt?

I have no problem with the tracklist at all....Dan's going to have an acoustic record out in a few months anyway.
Anyway, I just listened to Damnesia and it's actually really cool. I thought the idea was kind of silly but they did a great job with re-doing a lot of these songs. I don't know if I'm motivated enough to buy it though because it's only 3 new songs.

Every ALK3 song in 4 lines:
You were choking I was drinking I've been thinking About you leaving
(bonus - something about "your neck")

Every time I listen to Private Eye, I choose to hear "lookin' for corpses, dusted for Prince, pried up the floorboards."

Went to their show last week. Fun time, set list was not as strong as their last show I saw, but they did bring out some old rarities.
Night was ruined for me when I said hi to Matt, tried to have a conversation with him, he leaned in for a pic and then ran off to do more coke in the green room. I just wanted to say thanks and stuff :/
Hope they'll come around again soon and play a stronger setlist.
Damnesia is okay. I'm not too big on the This Could Be Love, Private Eye, or Blue In The Face. The new songs were cool.

They had a thing on their facebook account where people could vote for one song on each album to be put in the set, and the ones that ended up winning were already staples.

seriously, people are dumb. don't vote for things that are guaranteed to be played already.

Yeah, waste of a choice.
I Youtubed all the re-done Damnesia songs this weekend. I gotta say, for the most part, I think they're horrible, especially the ones Adam said.

Bought mine from iTunes. Hurricane Season, On Monday, Say Say Say, and Me and Denver are among my faves, but fantastic album overall.

Me and Denver and Hurricane Season were my favorite from the get-go, just from the demos, but I'm in love with Hollow Sounds right now.

Every ALK3 song in 4 lines: You were choking I was drinking I've been thinking About you leaving (bonus - something about "your neck") hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I saw them twice this year. April 27 and May 1 Was fun both times. Played almost the same set each night. I shouted out for My Friend Peter and Cooking Wine and they played them. I don't think they subtracted anything from the sets, just added those two. Fun times

When I saw them the only time, someone SCREAMED "MY FRIEND PETERRRR" just as they were about to play Radio and they went "fuck it, let's do My Friend Peter" and it was awesome because I love that song and Alkaline Trio shows where Radio doesn't happen are pretty rare.

I didn't get Radio or My Friend Peter this time around, but last time I saw them that happened and they played it and it was awesome.

Oh yeah, this one time I saw them about two and a half years ago, they opened with My Friend Peter, and it was the greatest.
