Seven year itch?
And wtf is NBC thinking letting the actress who plays Kelli go to Fox? Bummer man!

And wtf is NBC thinking letting the actress who plays Kelli go to Fox? Bummer man! Are you talking about Mindy Kaling? Last I heard, she was under contract through another season. They really can't afford to lose her since she's one of the producers and writers. Dude, Nick, I didn't watch last night but that story line is driving me crazy. I mean, either it's a huge waste of time or it's going to make Jim a dirtbag. I have no problem with characters doing something awful and then redeeming, but that's not what this show's about. It's about the quirkiness of working in a closed in office and everyone's idiosyncracies. It's not a drama(/dramedy) where the tone is way different and people's relationships are on show. It's literally a huge room full of character actors who have wonderful chemistry with one another.

Weird. I know she has something in the works with NBC. Maybe it's one of those things where NBC is producing it but FOX is airing like how ABC/Disney owned Scrubs but aired on NBC for Seasons 1-7.

Creed's three seconds in the latest episode had me rolling on the floor.

The best part was Stanley using the pouch for pizza storage.

I thought we would be rid of Catherine Tate's character when they left Florida, but it looks like I was sadly mistaken. I don't have anything against the actress, I'm sure she's fine in other things, but goddamn I just cannot stand her character. This used to be a show that, despite a couple loopy characters, was grounded in reality. Her character and Robert California, on the other hand, behave like no logical human being would (especially when trying to run a company) and it's really fucking exhausting. Like, why did everyone but Jim just act like it was totally normal for her to take Andy's job when he was gone for one day? Who would witness that and go "oh, yeah, that's totally a thing that happens all the time."
I still watch the show out of habit, because I'm still invested in some of the characters, and because it does still manage to get a few laughs every week, but it's getting frustrating.

I liked the new episode a lot. Some hilarious stuff from Toby, and I loved what happened to Kelly, haha. I'm actually pretty excited about this season; they can go totally nuts with it, and it helps that Greg Daniels is back as showrunner. It's obvious that they're going to get Jim and Pam out of Scranton by the end, and I'm glad.

Yeah I'm pretty excited about that. Eight seasons of Jim being bummed about his job was enough hahahha.
I like the new guys, too.

I have not been keeping up at all (last I remember was Michael's last episode) and I just saw a clip on tumblr of jim yelling at pam about a dance recital? What is happening?

Jim took a job with a sports marketing company in Philly (part time for now, but he hopes that it will be full-time) and with him being gone all the time Pam has had a hard time taking care of the kids. Cece had a dance recital, and Jim said he was going to make it, but of course he didn't. He told Pam to make sure she recorded it, and that she knew how to take video on her phone, and she said she would. She started recording it, but got a call in the middle of the recital (telling her that she got a commission painting a mural for the city) and it got screwed up. Jim called later and when she said that she didn't get the video, he kind of flipped out and then she broke down and started crying when he hung up. One of the documentary film crew tried to comfort her and told them to turn the cameras off. Wow, that's really long but that should bring you up to speed, haha.

Yeah I saw that part but holy shit, does the sports job make more money? Or is he just following his passions, because if that's the case that is so fucked up to Pam. There have been red flags since she dropped out of art school honestly.

I think there could be more money eventually? But yeah, it was mostly about following his passions. And yes, that's totally fucked and Pam tried to call him out on it. I mean, even the show hasn't been subtle about it: a couple episodes ago they kept cutting between Jim playing basketball with one of his sports heroes while a frazzled Pam struggled just to take care of the kids.
It's been simmering all season, though, because a.) he accepted the job offer and didn't tell her initially and b.) invested way more money in the company than he said he was going to.

I've been really critical of this show the last few seasons, but after watching last night's (excellent) episode, it finally hit me how much I'm going to miss it.

This season has been really hit or miss (mostly miss) but that one got me choked up a couple times. I hope they explain why the DNA test on the baby was wrong.

Last night's episode was really well done Things I liked: -Creed ended up playing "himself" not just a character of the same name -Tie-in w/ producers and someone saying "I thought this was just for people actually IN 'The Office'" -Dwight/Angela's wedding -Andy realizing his best years were behind him but still being optimistic -Lem from Better Off Ted -Pam selling the house without Jim's knowledge -Dwight becoming manager (which is funnier in my mind than what would've been on the show) -A feeling of readiness for the show to end (real life and from characters)
Things I didn't like: -Absence of so many key characters!!!! -No Ricky Gervais -Steve Carrell not being in pre-show and way downplayed in finale -Kevin getting fired at the beginning -Lem from Better Off Ted not being on the show from the beginning

I thought the use of Michael was perfect. Too much and it would have overshadowed everything else. He was back, had a couple of great lines (including one last "that's what she said") and we found out he got the family he always wanted. That's all I could have asked for.
Since Pam is my favorite character, I really loved: -We got one more "Dunder Mifflin, this is Pam." -Dwight saying she was his best friend -That the last shot was of her painting of the office
One thing that I loved that took me by surprise was the scenes between Stanley and Phyllis. It was so sweet.
Oh, and Creed's exit was just perfect.

I was disappointed they didn't show the security guard one last time.
But I agree with most of what's been said, and have really liked the last two weeks. It's just crazy this show that's been on since I was in college just isn't going to be there anymore.

I agree with everything you said, Nick, except I thought Michael's appearance and timing was perfect. I just wish he'd maybe came back to visit the office. That coupled with the fact that he wasn't in the pre-show stuff (minus the baseball game) just made me feel that he hadn't just moved on but completely abandoned everything. I dunno.

I've seen the finale 3 or 4 times now and I still can't make it through without fucking crying. I didn't even watch the show regularly! Stop with all the feelings!
