The Bill/Portia thing, I uh. . .on one hand, my immediate reaction is "Wow, ew, oops", but if you think about it. . .the things that make incest icky don't really apply to the situation. If you're gonna use standard considerations with this kind of thing, isn't it gross to be fucking a corpse anyway? It's as effectively incest as screwing a vampire is necrophilia. Technically. . .but not really. I still feel it's creepy in a gut way, but logically I don't really get it.

The Bill/Portia thing doesn't bother me the way its meant to for that very reason. It did hit me and make me appreciate that sort of wrench in the kinks, though.
Eric's storyline is all sorts of interesting. I totally knew he was gonna drain Claudine; it just seemed so obvious! I love how Sookie barely cared. "You drained my faerie god mother!" He's just incredibly satisfying.
Jason... omg, I've never been so sad for a set of characters. His rape scenes were just... I feel bad for him, bad for the women in the tribe, so bad for that little girl... what a horrific plot device, but a thrilling, convincing one that perfectly instills fear in me.
The season keeps getting better. I'm liking things!

Wow, season finale already. Am I the only one who thought this season very ho-hum? It fleshed a lot of things out but nothing really drastic happened other than Sookie and Eric.

I liked the stuff with the witches and the necromancy and whatnot a lot. It totally made me wanna copycat in role play scenarios (but I resisted the urge). Clearly I'm a nerd whose interest in the romantic plots is kind of meh, though, so. . .yeah. At first I thought the witch thing was going to be irritating but once it got rolling, I was into it. All in all, the less there is of dudes fighting over Sookie, the happier I'll be, but that's a big part of it, so. . .ehhh.
I almost think I'd still watch the show if they killed Sookie off, except it'd never happen. They should do a network TV spin-off. Less bare-breasted sex scenes (I tend to watch TV with my mother. . .it's awkward, OK?), fewer exploding vampires (maybe have it happen slightly off-screen...), blah blah, but fun stuff that doesn't involve "SOOKIE IS MY POSSESSION HISS" cheesy shit.

I found this season to be fun enough. The whole Sookie/Nice Eric plot was fun. The werewolf side-plot was meh. The witch focus had some good parts, some bad parts. The foreshadowing devices seemed very heavy-handed; it was painfully obvious that Eric and Sookie were gonna get together the moment he lost his memory; the first possession of Lafayette was obviously to tie in with the Marny (sp?) thing in this last episode. Speaking of which, I've liked the acting so much in this season; everyone had to pretend to be something they're not used to, or even better, pretend to be someone else. Sam Trammell, for instance, did a great job pretending to be Tommy in Sam's body. And Nelsan Ellis keeps bowling me over every time a new person possesses Lafayette... I love his acting soooooooo much.
Not the best season, but certainly had its fun points. Eager for the finale.

I'm going to say again how happy I am that they didn't follow the books when it comes to Lafayette. I can't imagine the series without him.

What the fucking fuck. That finale was all over the place. Like, it was intense, but it was so sporadic that the feeling was ultimately way less enjoyable than desired. But... damn, that shit was crazy.

yeah this season was a lot of fun as always. consistently ridiculous but that's why I watch it ha. so many deaths, goddamn! Saw tara coming after she and sookie had the "hope we can grow old together" conversation. SOOOO sad about lafayette's boyf though. I knew that was coming too but my friends and I that were watching it all let out a howl of sadness when it did. fucking marnie.
So how the fuck did that religious guy turn into a vampire? I don't remember that happening but it's possible I'm just blanking.
also sookie JUST CHOOSE ERIC OH MY GOD HOW COULD YOU NOT CHOSE ERIC JUST LOOK AT HIM. YOU STUPID IDIOT.

Last I remember seeing him was the episode when Godric is saved. If he's shown up since, it slipped my mind. Speaking of, this episode was endless flashback. Gran, preacher, Renee... something wild.
Jessica was soooooooooooo adorable/hot in her little red riding hood outfit.
