*Just breathe...*
WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK IS GOING ON? ARE THERE ANY GODDAMN HUMANS IN THIS ENTIRE FUCKING TOWN? WEREWOLVES, WEREPANTHERS, WITCHES, DEMI-GODS, VAMPIRES, FAERIES... AND I'M GUESSING SHAMAN? SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? THERE'S LIKE 100 STORYLINES BREAKING APART AND ERIC'S ALL "LET'S COMMIT SUICIDE" AND LAFAYETTE HAS LIKE THE CHILDREN OF THE CORN VERSION OF TOY STORY AND SAM'S GETTING BACKGROUND THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE HEADING ANYWHERE AND, OH YEAH, SOOKIE IS A FUCKING FAERIE! a GOD DAMN FAERIE!
Bur seriously, that first trip-out with Jesus and Lafayette was so damn hilarious.

Sookie is supposed to be a faerie. She is in the books too.

My rant was about the story regardless of whether its the show or the books. I just love her reactions upon finding out. "A faerie? That's so lame!"

I liked the finale as an episode, but not as a season-ender. I just didn't get enjoyable conclusions; nothing has really trapped me with endless want going into the next season. Still... Alcide and Godric made brief returns. That was worthwhile.

Yeah, totally did not feel like a season finale. I an so happy that Bill is exposed as the asshole he is now. Eric FTW!

Asshole, yes. But that had to have been an awkward position. To go from vampire spy to enthralled love messes with everything, and I'm sure he was afraid of losing her should the truth come out. Not that I excuse him, just that I understand his choices, bad as they were.

I am so bored with Bill and Sam. What ended up happening with Tara? I thought she was on her way to burn down Sams or something.
I quite liked a lot of the episode, but I was pretty underwhelmed with it as a finale. Where's the cliffhanger?

Yeah, I kinda don't get it. Why did they give it to her? Also, I hate how Claudine is all dreamy and mystical and shit in the show. I liked her working at a department store better!

So I was just putzing around the internet and read that the sex scene between Bill and Lorena wasn't quite as cheesy as I thought. . .I didn't get that he was turning her head around so he didn't have to look at her face, I thought it was just some corny violence thing. I still think it's a bit cheesy, but it's less cringe-inducing to notice a reason behind it, rather than just "So what violent thing can we have him do as they're having hateful sex?"

New season starts in two days. Not having read the books, I'm curious about what's going on in fairy-ville.

Even having read the books, I have no idea. They've gone pretty far away from them. I think they're sticking to the Eric storyline in this one, but other than that who knows. They really need less separate storylines going on though.

The fairy storyline is totally going to be like the Maryanne storyline from season 2. I really don't care at ALL about the faeries already, and the season hasn't even started.

Hahaha.
I've been rewatching the seasons, and I've got to compliment them on laying the foundations for most of the reveals quite well. Looking back, there are so many times I thought "that's weird", but looking now, it all makes sense. Especially so with Bill's introduction to the show.

I'll just spoiler this juuust in case: The fairy shit got old fast. The white light power, and then the first 15 minutes of Season 4 with the fairy stuff, what. And what's with Eric owning her house and her being gone for a year and Tara living somewhere else AS someone else? Was all that in the books? Maybe I just don't remember all of it, but meh. The first episode of Season 4 was blah to me. I'll keep watching though.

Tara's a pretty minor character in the books, the biggest role she ever played was with the Franklin-analogue stuff (so, the original older-looking vampire that was Franklin, followed by the young violent one whose name I forgot, that she was kind of 'given' to--I have a feeling they just melded the two characters together for the show's Franklin). So it makes sense that none of that stuff happened (I don't think JB Du Rone is even a character in the show, as an aside). The being gone stuff is new--the stuff with her entering Faery at all, ever, is new. The power thing is new. Basically, it's one of the few instances where the show made something MORE CORNY than it was in the books. The whole Claudine and Claude thing would've been plenty of fun on TV if they hadn't made those changes. EDIT: (episode two spoilers) So I watched the second episode on demand already, and I liked. . .parts of it, at least. Bill was a punk, hehe! I kind of like to see the various roles they would've played over the years--that's an amusing side of vampires before the Revelation, to me. It gives a lot of opportunity for people to play dress-up in flashbacks, hehehe. I'm getting really sick of all this "Sookie is mine" crap. It was fine when it was something said as a kind of "yeah, vampire culture is fucked up, they'd seriously maul you to death if I didn't say that" thing, but it quickly became honest possessiveness, which. . .meh. I know a lot of women who find that kind of thing sexy (at least in the realm of fiction), so there's definitely a female element of the fanbase that's getting all hot and bothered over it, rather than feeling icky, but it's starting to grate on my nerves.

all I know is the tara scenes were hot.
everything else is just true blood maintaining its tradition of getting more outlandish and ridiculous every season.

Wow. Ep 1 of season 4 was TERRIBLE. The faerie stuff was always pretty ridic/unbearable in the books, but they've actually made it worse. Kill it now.
Totally dug the Tara stuff, thought some of the Jess and Hoyt stuff was cute. Mildly sort of intrigued by the Jason stuff but possibly only because I love Ryan Kwanten. And fucking ew to making Eric so creepy and gross at the end, what the hell.
I'm pretty close to putting a big frowny face stamp on this series. If Alcide doesn't turn up soon I'm bowing out.

I must be the only person who LOVED the premiere, haha. I like, most of all, that the plot has been advanced a year. I expected the fourth season to pick right up where the third one left off, meaning we'd have to suffer through some "BEEL LOVE SOOKIE AND IS ANGUISHED VAMPIRE" crap (and now we have a Bill who seems to have moved on and is,uh, KING?!), Jason struggling with growing up and taking care of a whole community (and we now have Jason all grown up and with facial hair, ha), Jessica and Hoyt continue to be lovey-dovey (and now we've got evidence of cracks in the relationship), and the aftermath of Sam shooting Tommy (which we pretty much skipped over the entire drama). I just like that it isn't what I expected it to be. I also really, really like Bill's plot (something I thought I'd never say, because I loathe Bill). It's a great way to keep his character in the plot of the story, since the (spoilers from the book alert!) Eric and Sookie relationship in the books kind of renders him useless. I'm also interested in seeing just how MUCH Bill being King interferes with Sookie and Eric's budding relationship. Or hookup. Or whatever you want to call it. As ambitious as Eric is, banging his King's former lover isn't going to get him anywhere. And good lord, do I love Tara now. And I need more Alcide! Two episodes and no Alcide? I'M FEELING CHEATED.

I do like how they skipped a year. It leaves it so that a lot can move forward. I'm so glad they're staying in the general plot of the books. I really want to know how they're going to work in Jason and the werepanthers, especially since there is no Calvin like in the books. And Crystal is even more effed up in the the series than in the books. Then again every character seems to be more fucked up in the TV series than in the book. It also seems like Sookie is more like the book Sookie in this season so far than she ever has been. I like.

I promised my friend we'd watch the new season together, and we didn't get around to starting until last Saturday. That said, the first episode was all sorts of awkward. It seemed inelegant through the first half, but sorta redeemed itself. I'm not that fond of the device they used, but I like bits about where it brought us. I don't know why they were so vehement on jumping into the future, but it is what it is.
Tara never looked so good. Just her poise is delightful to experience. And ya... hot!

That being said, I'm loving adorable Eric. I'm so glad they are following the books on that part. Also, anyone else thinking that they're kinda melding Tara and Amelia together?
