Maaaan, those new Kendrick tracks are fire. Really cool to hear some of his live-only tracks get a proper release, plus its kind of an interesting mix in terms of best and song selection. Untitled 2, 5 and 8 are probably my favorites right now. Those flow switches about halfway through and then near the end of 2 are fucking amazing. Basically yanked two flows that Drake uses heavily, then uses them better than Drake ever could and rips the beat apart. 3 is also cool, the beat gives me anxiety kind of, but Kendrick just flows over it so damn well. The lyrics also deserve a huge shoutout, but i kind of expected them to be good since we are mostly GKMC and TPAB throwaways and those albums were pretty stellar lyrically. It's been pretty incredible to watch him grow as an artist, but I think this helps cement him as one of the best pure rappers and lyricists in hip hop today. Crazy to think he is just really hitting his stride, weare likely witnessing a once in a generation artist. Might be a bit of hyperbole, but he is really polishing the potential he showed on OD and Section.80.

Bossk may be my top album right now. Explosions in the Sky's new album was good, but not great. May need more listens.

Anyone else check out the new Weezer album? I actually like it more than I thought I would on my first listen. There's not a whole lot of new ground covered, but it's way better than their last couple efforts.

Wouldn't call it bad, but there wasn't really anything that stood out to me.

I would give it a solid 7.5/10 after two listens.
New Deftones and Parquet Courts are out today! Listening to PC right now. This is wayyy more focused than Monastic Living, digging it so far.

I need to check out the FR album since The Midnight Organ Fight is one of my favorite albums of all time.
New Parquet Courts is awesome. It's definitely slower than anything else they've made but it's also way more heartfelt.

Bought the new Deftones record today. Right now, I LOVE "Hearts/Wires" but the last few songs kind of dragged on me. I'm sure the whole thing will grow on me soon, though.
Been into the new O'Brother record recently too.

I dig it a lot, but it is a little predictable. I am a lot more excited for the album now though, I was a little worried how Matt would fit. I think they definitely made the right choice to move forward without Tom.

The new White Lung is a serious AOTY contender. I just love hearing a band maturing into their sound naturally and getting better and better.

new Brand New song omgggggg. youtu.be/28YFesvcLS8I like it a lot. It's a lot lighter sounding than their last albums, but i dig the energy a lot. The Guitar tone also fits perfectly. Fully hyped for the album.

Interested to hear that in the context of the album. It's pretty good but if the whole album feels like that it's not really gonna be for me.

FUCK! Nothing special, but I'm loving it! I got so bored with Brand New on Daisy, so I'm glad this is the complete opposite of that.
I'm liking new song The Faint released too:

I am so happy they followed it up with actual confirmation of an album this year. 7 goddamn years. I am fucking giddy right now. And after listening a few more times, it really sounds like a blend of the first three albums. It's not their best song ever, but if this, Mene and Sealed to Me are any indication, I think this album is gonna be great.
I haven't kept up with The Faint much, but that song got my interest.
Edit: Also just listened to the new Atmosphere song and dug it a lot, but i have a big soft spot for them.

PUP's new album is probably my favorite album of the year so far. Catchy and lots of gang vocals! All I really need.
