gave the new Gallows a listen... i really think they should have changed their name after Frank and then Steph left, but the new album isn't too bad. Death Valley Blue and Desolation Sounds are both pretty great tracks. The whole sound is just so different from the first two Gallows. This one feels a bit more southern metal-ish, kind of almost like Every Time I Die, but the songwriting still is kind of lacking. 6.5-7/10, maybe, will probably give it another listen soon.

I've been saying that for years. Glad someone else agrees.

Holy shit Prurient still exists? Wow. I should look into that. He does. Check out Profound Lore's Facebook page. They've posted some new songs of his.

reallllly feeling the new Earl Sweatshirt album lately. He really reminds me of a younger Doom with a bit smoother flow and I can't get enough. When he hits that double time section in DNA, i think the dude is still holding out on us.
I'm really stoked for him since it seems he's able to do what he wants to do and doesn't seem to be forced to make more radio-friendly stuff. none of the songs would really work on the radio, but the entire tone of the album is pretty dark, so eh.

This new Ceremony needs to drop already. Your Life In France has my hype levels through the roof right now.
edit: lol, silly me, it leaked yesterday.

I haven't really listened to most of the newer post-punk stuff save for the new Iceage album, but I'm seriously digging this album so far. Ceremony's evolution has been interesting to watch.

Yeah, they've had such a weird journey, but I'm loving every single step of it. Still need to listen to the whole thing, couldn't get any of the links to download. I'm stoked to listen to the whole thing, the three songs they released have been fantastic.

Just listened to the new Coliseum and it sort of took me by surprise. There's a lot more singing on it and it sounds like they're going for a more Fucked Up-type sound now (which I'm totally fine with). They've kind of been branching in that direction for a few years but this takes it to a different level. It's not what I expected from them but I was pretty into it on first listen.

so yeah, The L-Shaped Man is pretty fantastic. honestly, the only thing I'm not that into is the opening song. Bleeder is probably my favorite track right now, but i'm really digging the vibe of the whole album.

goddamn, that run from Exit Fears to Your Life in France is incredible. Exit Fears is terrifying me right now because the lyrics are hitting so goddamn close to home. this is a really well-done album, but I wouldn't have expected anything less. i am just guessing this is going to be top 3 for me this year even after only two days with it. also, i didn't realize that John Reis produced this... I do kinda hear a Hot Snakes/Drive Like Jehu/Rocket From The Crypt vibe through some of the album, so that makes a lot more sense. edit: Also just found that Touche Amore and Self Defense Family did a collaborative split? hell yeah.

www.complex.com/music/2015/05/asap-rocky-excuse-me-production-history-vulkan-the-krusaderThis was my favorite beat after a few listens, so it's really interesting to see how it came to be. I'm really digging this album it could have maybe benefited from dropping a song or two, but Holy Ghost, L$D, Excuse Me, LPFJ2, Electric Body, Jukebox Joints, Wavybone, M'$, Everyday, Back Home... this album is pretty fucking packed with great songs. also, the whole story of how Joe Fox is all over this album is really interesting too. insane how this dude was just living on the streets and now he's all over a major label rap album. www.complex.com/music/2015/05/get-to-know-joe-fox/
