It's here, and I should be asleep, but want a forum for us baseball nerds.
I love my Nats from the nl. Riding out so many shitty seasons has paid off as we have a filthy team, with some hunger and experience and are set to kick some ass. St. Louis does still scare me a bit.
The AL I haven't followed closely since I got my Nats and gave up the sox, but Detroit is looking fucking dangerous. Lol forever at that contract, though.

I'm hoping to catch a couple of Phils home games while I'm back East for school. At the very least, I'll be able to hit up some Red Sox home games finally.
Won't be able to catch the Padres/Phils series because it's not until July. Might be able to catch a game at Dodgers Stadium. That's always a fun little road trip.
BASEBALL SEASON!!!

It's gonna be a long year. Reyes got pulled after his first at bat, Dickey got lit up, our core was pretty invisible, Jansen's on the 15. Go Blue Jays.

It'll be an exciting season, no doubt, but I have absolutely no expectations.
What's so funny about the Cabrera contract? Like, I don't think that's even in the top 5 bad contracts signed this season. I mean, not saying it's great but he's getting compensated for what he's done. He's got some good years ahead of him. He puts butts in seats and jerseys on backs. Keeping him as a face of the franchise will help Detroit in the long run even if he stops being productive in his later years. He's still the best hitter in the game and will continue to be. And they traded Prince so it'll be easy to move him back to 1B and then to DH as needed. My only real question is "where the hell is the money for him coming from?" They offered a shit ton to Scherzer and Verlander's contract is huge.
Cano's contract is pretty awful, though. And Ellsbury's is the worst.
Speaking of awful, awful contracts, I'm so glad this is the last year for Vernon Wells and Joe Blanton's contracts. Ugh.

Yeah, I guess it's more a "how do you have this much money" then a terrible contract. Cano's is amazingly bad. Ellsbury's is worse, but I expect nothing less from the Yankees. They lost Cano, freed up some cash and just had to go spend it.
I do enjoy that we're discussing contracts and your avatar is the Million Dollar Man.

Looking back, how hilariously outdated is the concept of a "million dollar man" being rich? Sadly hilarious?

Haha, I saw that. It's amazing.
I'm going to my 9th consecutive home opener tomorrow! We've had ten, I had to miss the first back in 05 because of stupid senior year of high school. I can't wait!

I just used what I should likely have used for food at work the next few days to pay for over night shipping on the alternate nats hat with the playoff patch. I don't really care. Its the red hat with blue brim. I've wanted it forever, and Damn if i wont have it for Friday.

Good riddance to Gardenhire. He led the Twins to a lot of success, but hasn't been able to do jackshit the last few years. Definitely time to clean house a little.
Go... Royals, I guess? It'd be fun to see them make a run.

Wow, they are woeful.
We looked just...off today. Almost like a team that hasn't played baseball for nearly a week. Really hoping we've settled down a bit and can take it to em tomorrow.

Congrats, Corey. I'm stuck at my girl's parent's house watching the masn post game with her Orioles fan dad rubbing in that we're in the hole.

Only caught the end of yesterday's game, but holy shit I am so excited. Can't believe that O's/Royals is the ALCS, ha.
Here's hoping the Nats win three straight.
