Recommend your favourite artists, albums or tracks which don't contain any vocals. Postrock, electro, classical, whatever you like.
I can never concentrate on writing if I'm listening to music with lyrics, and I end up listening to a lot of foreign-language music, but I'm getting bored of the tiny selection I have now!

RJD2's Magnificent City Instrumentals is awesome. Very spy music-y, also has A Beautiful Mine, which is the Mad Men theme.
El Michels Affair, they did a whole album of live instruments playing Wu-Tang beats that rules.

Grails - Post rock, sounds kinda like the soundtrack to a post apocalyptic western.
Dirty Three - Instrumental rock, really violin heavy instead of guitar. Ocean Songs is one of my favorite mellow albums.
White Lunar - Compilation of soundtrack music by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. Mostly sad and western sounding.
John 5 - Instrumental guitar ranging from metal to country.
Guignol - Gypsy sounding stuff, mostly upbeat.
Zappa's got some really good instrumental stuff as well.
I know there's more, but this is the first time I've looked through my library since my wife merged our collections and I cant find anything and there's apparently now Avril Lavigne on my computer :/

"Sleep Walk" by Santo & Johnny This was the soundtrack to the girl I had a crush on in high school, lol Anyway, back when you made this thread, I made a playlist of the top 20 (or 25?) instrumental tracks I scrobbled in 2013. I uploaded it but I lost the link. Right now I can't be bothered to re-up it, so I'll just type up a list of my top 20 most scrobbled instrumental tracks of the last 3 months: 1. augustus pablo - "satta dub" 2. the heliocentrics - "dr. owusu, i presume?" 3. wes montgomery - "after hours blues" (version of "blues after hours" that appeared on a recent compilation of early live recordings of his) 4. jfa - "baja" 5. scientist - "beam down" 6. the skatalites - "ska la parisienne" around here is basically all of miles davis' bag's groove and wes montgomery's boss guitar8. the upsetters - "black panta" 9. the skatalites - "fidel castro" 10. art blakey & the jazz ADD TO WISHLISTs - "a night in tunisia" (from the 1960 lp of the same name) 11. m83 - "couleurs" 12. george enescu - suite no. 3 (pièces impromptues), op. 18: 6. choral (performed by matei varga) 13. sonny clark - "blue minor" 14. wolfram - "roshi" 15. miles davis - "spanish key" 16. henry flynt - "you are my everlovin'" 17. black boned angel - "supereclipse ii" 18. fryderyk chopin - nocturne no. 2 in a-flat major, op. 32 (performed by arthur rubinstein) 19. art farmer - "the aztec suite" 20. claude debussy - première rhapsodie pour clarinette et orchestre, l.116 (performed by pierre boulez and the cleveland orchestra)
