We're pretty good at sustaining general threads for stuff!
I'm watching Six Feet Under right now which is amazing. I've never watched another show where I care about every character equally. Also in season 2 Michael C. Hall and Adam Scott make out with each other, so you know, that happens.
Just quit True Blood after watching the first 5 seasons. The first two are actually good, the rest are dulllllllll.
Going through The Simpsons because I'm behind on it, have watched season 5, 7, and 8 at this point. Enjoying every time something from an Ergs song title appears (Saturday Night Crap-O-Rama).

Scandal is so bad but eminently watchable. The frequency with which the characters say the word "gladiator" is hilarious. The episode "Seven Twenty-Three" in Season 2 is the best-worst of the series so far.
Forgot to mention Homeland, which had a great first season, good second one, and completely ridiculous third one to date. I keep hoping every week it'll stop being so silly but it is adamantly sticking to this season's totally impossible plotting.

House of Cards on and off. Rewatching a lot of Archer just because it's always so damn hilarious.

Sleepy Hollow (just started this a few days ago and I love it, it's so fun), Elementary, Supernatural, and about to watch the season finale of Downton Abbey.

You know, I don't even know why I have a DVR. I have like 3-4 episodes each of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and The Walking Dead that I haven't watched. I'm really bad about sticking with new shows. I think I might give up on The Walking Dead, I'm just so bored with it.
I still haven't started Orange Is the New Black, and I also want to start watching Don't Trust the B In Apt. 23 since that's on Netflix now. I heard good things and Krysten Ritter is wonderful.

Nick watch Orange is the New Black!! I want to start Don't Trust the B too. I share a Netflix account with like half of my family and one of my brothers has been watching that so I want to wait until he finishes it to start so I don't keep making him lose his place. I'm working on The L Word but it's lost me pretty hard because I wanted to like it so bad but don't care about almost anybody on the show. I just started Community and I love it so much. I'm on season three right now and getting super bummed because I've noticed the seasons are getting progressively shorter. Maybe once it starts airing again I'll try to watch it on whatever network's website to up its play count. Other currently running shows I'm watching.. Parks and Rec, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, American Dad, Supernatural, and Grey's Anatomy. Never thought I'd watch Grey's but my sister started it and I caught glimpses and got sucked in by all the damn drama hahaha. I want to watch Elementary and Sleepy Hollow too. I'm behind on It's Always Sunny and The League, want to catch up soon. Same with How I Met Your Mother. I don't know if I care about it anymore but I've seen so much of it I want to see it through. I started getting bored by Criminal Minds but I might get back into it. And I want to start The Simpsons from the beginning. Oh and Orphan Black, I heard good things about that but keep forgetting about it when I go to start something new. And Dexter. And House of Cards. I finished The IT Crowd recently and I am so mad at myself for not watching it sooner. It also kicked off a Richard Ayoade obsession so I've been keeping up with shows he's doing, like Was It Something I Said? and Gadget Man, plus a couple other random appearances he's made. I started Being Human last year for Aidan Turner but faded out somewhere, need to finish it sometime. I used to never watch tv but eff, tv rules. And Nick yeah I am so bad with DVRs, I leave stuff on them forever. I don't get cable so that solves that problem hahahha. Oh on that note, here's the streaming site I use if anybody's in the market for one.

You should keep watching The L Word if only for the fact that Sleater-Kinney were on it at one point.
And Katie, watching The Simpsons from the beginning is one of the most rewarding things a person can do, so I applaud you.

Nick I got to that episode! Thought of you hahahha.
Community nooooooooooo why. I hear Dexter goes that way too. With Community even if the episode itself isn't that great there are usually enough funny one liners or ongoing jokes or whatever to make it worth it so I'll cling onto that hope I guess. And I've heard something about that and maybe even watched a scene but yeah I plan on getting through anything of his I can find.

Yeah, I'm one of those people who watched season 4 of Community and thought "this is still a lot better than most other stuff on TV." No matter what, Gillian Jacobs is still one of the funniest people on TV, so there's that.

I just caught up on this season of The Walking Dead and I'm only just barely interested enough to keep watching. They took every memorable, character defining moment from the comics and watered it down to overly drawn out meaninglessness. I think I'm mostly just watching at this point to see what they get wrong next.
I'm about halfway through the first season of Twin Peaks. It's interesting so far, but not terribly engaging. I enjoy it while I'm watching, but I usually put it on because I'm bored, rather than because I need to know what happens next. I do love the cheesy 90's-ness of it though.
I watched one episode of Hemlock Grove because my coworkers couldn't decide if it was good or terrible. It was terrible, and I called the killer and pretty much every other big reveal that season had halfway through the first episode.
I'm on season 3 of Law and Order SVU, and it's so depressing but I can't stop watching. They're getting into too much personal stuff this season though, and everybody is taking turns acting like a jackass. Crushing pretty hard on Alex, guh.
I started Six Feet Under and Pushing Daisies, but got bored and lost interest.
Community has gotten progressively worse with each season, but I'm hoping the new writer will do better. I can't stand Gillian Jacobs in all but season one. The last season of Dexter was awful, and the finale was the worst ending to a show I've ever seen. I'm still loving Parks and Rec, they've had some really good moments already this season.
I've been rewatching the couple seasons of MASH I own, and if the rest of the series is that good, it just might be the best show ever.

I still haven't started Orange Is the New Black, and I also want to start watching Don't Trust the B In Apt. 23 since that's on Netflix now. I heard good things and Krysten Ritter is wonderful. Dude, OITNB is worth the hype. Much like The Office, the supporting characters are ultimately the ones that make the show so amazing. Every cast member does a great job. Even Biggs does well. And all of the characters are so realistic where you'll love them all and hate them all kind of in the same way Breaking Bad develops characters. Don't Trust the B is fucking awwwwwwful and, speaking of BB, I guess that's where you got the idea that Krysten Ritter is wonderful? You may want to keep that in your mind and skip Don't Trust the B. Will anyone second this? Six Feet Under and Pushing Daisies have been on my to watch list forever too. Pushing Daisies was pretty remarkable but it sucks because it was never fully backed by the station it was on (NBC?) which I believe led to its ultimate demise. It was rushed and plot moved too fast especially in the 2nd season. FWIW I thought it was a great show but it should've been given a better chance. If you end up digging that, check out Dead Like Me which Pushing Daisies was spiritually spun off of. Oh, I've been digging Wilfred lately too. We haven't watched it recently but what a weird fucking show. Cei/Viv is the Australian version any good? I can't imagine anyone in Elijah Wood's place.

OITNB is super good and the couple episodes I saw of Don't Trust the B. were super super mediocre. I don't know if it was a trying too hard to be edgy and quirky or sly or whatever, but it was just a big pile of meh. And while I really really like Pushing Daisies, Dead Like Me is so much better. I would also add Wonderfalls to the "check out all the cool stuff Bryan Fuller has done" list. It's a little more uneven, but when it's good, it's so good. Another show that only got one season, but I am not sure if it could have sustained longer...At least the unaired episodes are on the DVD release. Oh, I've been digging Wilfred lately too. We haven't watched it recently but what a weird fucking show. Cei/Viv is the Australian version any good? I can't imagine anyone in Elijah Wood's place. We totally loved Wilfred at first, but then too many of the jokes started to make us feel super uncomfortable and majorly squicked out. Which sucks, because the premise is kind of brilliant and wonderfully surreal.

My wife has been watching the crap out of Scandal. I just got Amazon Prime so I've been watching Daria and Pawn Stars like crazy. Haha Two of the people in my office are obsessed with Scandal. Their conversations regarding the topic are numerous and very loud. I find it funny. But I freaked out a couple weeks ago because they FINALLY put the last season of Gossip Girl on Netflix. FINALLY. CLOSURE. I've been skipping around random episodes of TV shows I know and love. Right now I'm cherry-picking my favorite Always Sunny. Oh, and I was trying to get through some Hell's Kitchen on YouTube, but it was too much work for too little reward. I love Ramsay but that show is a bit much.

Just added Scandal to my list! Don't Trust the B is fucking awwwwwwful and, speaking of BB, I guess that's where you got the idea that Krysten Ritter is wonderful? If you end up digging that, check out Dead Like Me which Pushing Daisies was spiritually spun off of. Will add Dead Like Me to the list for sure! I think that's one I wanted to watch but forgot the name of and when a friend mentioned Pushing Daisies I assumed that's what it was? So it's a relief to get that name, maybe. Anyway I'd heard pretty much the same exact stuff about PD from somebody else so that's a bummer. It'll be nice to have something short I can blow through I guess, even if I'll be bummed there wasn't more. Can't vouch for Don't Trust The B obviously but I don't really like Krysten Ritter (for no particular reason), was going to check out the show anyway cause I'd heard so much stuff. We totally loved Wilfred at first, but then too many of the jokes started to make us feel super uncomfortable and majorly squicked out. Which sucks, because the premise is kind of brilliant and wonderfully surreal. That exact thing happened to me. It was so long ago I don't really remember why, I just remember giving up because.. well "squicked out" is a good way to put it I guess cause I don't know what else to say hahahah. I watched a couple episodes of the original and remember not caring enough to go on, but again I don't remember why.

Pushing Daisies is still definitely worth watching though. Very charming, and I don't think you'll regret it.
As for Wilfred, I seem to remember too many sexist/rape/victim blaming jokes and other things that you could tell that they were banking on the surrealism of the show to excuse some really horrid shit. And even if Elijah Wood's character looked totally aghast, this stuff was still being aired. But this is also based on maybe the first six or so episodes as that was about as far as we got.

I remember really liking it when it first came out, but that was back when I was in Uni and I haven't seen it since, so I don't know how it holds up to my taste in shows as it stands now. I also haven't really watched the US version so I can't compare. So this is in fact a useless reply hahaha. But I can tell you that when a US version was announced there was nation wide eye rolling.

I have been contemplating The Walking Dead for a long time. Is it worth it to get into a show that was apparently so brilliant for two seasons, but now has lost most of its edge?

With the exception of maybe the pilot, Walking Dead has never been "brilliant," IMO. It never has been (and likely never will be) in that top tier of dramas because the writing and acting rarely rise above average.
