the only way I think I could go to this is if Thursday played first. I've sat through Underoath six times, and every time got weirder/grosser.
the last time I saw them Spencer whipped his nasty hair (back and forth) and would've hit me if I didn't push as far back as I could. he constantly spits in crowd and it's come way too close to me too many times and one time stood on my fingers for a really long time and ooof. I just can't stand them.
plus Aaron left and he was adorable.
oh, my fucking favorite moment was when they all took a moment to talk to god and made everyone put their hands up in the air. it was ridiculous. you are not the headliners Underoath, don't you dare impose your religious beliefs on me.

I would absolutely refuse to do that.

Ugh, this happened when I saw them too. I do not want your fucking gross spit on me, assholes. Nor do I really care about your religious beliefs. Play music and gtfo.

they should only do the GTFOing. not the playing music.

Aaron made Underoath bearable. I still really want to get to this show. After seeing Underoath once, yeah they put a lot of energy into it, but I don't want to do it again. And A Skylit Drive? Seriously? gahh. I'm torn. But may just sit in the back until Thursday is on, see Thursday, then peace.

I could show up late so I wouldn't have to sit through A Skylit Drive (who are seriously one of the worst bands I have ever heard), stay for Thursday and leave before Underoath. I can tolerate Underoath but they are pretty bad live from what I remember.

I absolutely cannot stand Underoath. I've probably never given them a fair chance, but absolutely nothing has ever convinced me that I want to.
With that in mind, LESS UNDEROATH IN THE THURSDAY THREAD BECAUSE, UNLIKE UNDEROATH, THURSDAY IS NOT TERRIBLE.
I've been getting the itch to listen to "War All The Time" lately. I need to find it. I've got it around here somewhere, but I don't know where it is. I do love how thoroughly Thursday seemed to peak with "Jet Black New Year." It's kind of amazing when, even when you have a ridiculously solid catalog, one song pretty much destroys everything else you've ever produced.

still one of the darkest songs I've ever heard.

Didn't expect a song like that from them after the last record, but I like it nonetheless. Reminds me of "Signals Over The Air."

I think the new song's pretty rad. From the article it sounded like the rest of the album would be a little heavier.

This is sooo good. I have really high expectations for this album, but I think I'm not going to be disappointed at all.

The more I listen to it the better it gets. I'm really stoked for another atmospheric-y album and I'm really curious to see how the "more passionate" songs turn out if they have the same airy quality. Really excited for this.

yeah, I really really like this song. I'm beyond stoked for this album.
also, someone who has heard some new songs from a listening party said:
fuck.

Saw them tonight and it was really, really great. Really energetic and sounded awesome. Geoff's screams were really good and strong, and I wasn't expecting him to do much of the screaming, so that was awesome. They played Turnpike Divide after finishing Full Collapse and it sounded really goddamn good. I'm even more excited for this album, now!
(Also, Spencer from Underoath has dreads now. Just saying. weird.)

Seeing FC performed live is easily one of my favorite concert experiences ever. I wasn't expecting them to get such a good reaction from the crowd. Definitely had a sore throat the next day from singing along to every song. Haha.

I'll have to wait until later tonight to listen to this but CHRIST I'm excited.
EDIT: Okay, so I got through it. I realllly loved Sparks Against the Sun. Empty Glass was haunting and I really like the way it went into A Gun in the First Act. Turnpike Divides is also really good. As a whole I think it's a fairly good album. I'm sure it will do some growing on me. Also, not sure how I feel about Stay True. Good message, maybe a bit cliche. eh.

I would feel very comfortable with putting this as my third favorite Thursday release, after WATT and the Envy split.

It's definitely growing on me, and I love it, but I'd still place it behind FC, WATT and CE.

I saw Thursday last night with Taking Back Sunday and the new songs sound reallllly good live. Especially Turnpike Divide and Sparks Against the Sun. The new album is definitely growing on me.
EDIT: Also, the set list was sort of... weird. 5 new songs, which makes sense, and then 2 from full collapse, and then jet black and counting 54321.. no watt or common existence at all.

If anyone in the LA area wants a once in a lifetime experience and loves Thursday, they're playing here at a tiny club, like 250 will pack the place like sardines. So, if you wanna check Thursday on a Thursday at a pizza place and aren't afraid of Bakersfield heat, check it out. www.timgardeapresents.com
