Not sure how many sports peeps are left on this board, but preseason started this week so let's get some discussion going. Make predictions, talk, shit, hype your favorite team or, if you're like me, vent about how much they suck. I wasn't planning on following the NFL much outside of the Panthers, but everyone I work with is a huge football fan so I'll probably be drawn into watching a little this year.

It's kind of a bummer - we're keeping the Texans season tickets, but I'm not sure how many games I'll be able to go to this year.
That, and luckily I haven't met a any big Titans fans yet but I assume once the season kicks off I'll be really unhappy about people supporting this fake, bullshit, stolen team. God I hate Bud Adams.
That, and I'm deeply mired in the realization that this will probably be the last year the Texans even have a chance to win the division before Andrew Luck gets real good and keeps killing us every year like Peyton used to. Stupid sports.
Womp Womp. But at least the other half of the household will be amped as long as the Niners are good again! Silver linings, yo!

The Cowboys' season will be just like all the others: they'll be average, then get juuuuust good enough to get my hopes up, then blow it. Lather, rinse, repeat. On a more positive note, I think this is going to be the season when Dez becomes one of the best WRs in the league.

Dallas could win that division, but it will probably depend on what happens with the Giants and if RGIII can get back at full speed. The Redskins are probably keeping him out the entire pre-season but he says that he is aiming to get back by Week 1. He's been practicing so I'm not sure what will happen there. Ware could be a beast in the 4-3, though.

On the coaching side of things, I'm very optimistic. I don't know how changing the scheme will work out, but Sean Lee is back, and Monte Kiffin emphasizes in forcing turnovers, which is something we struggled with last season (we already have four takeaways in the preseason). Also, taking play-calling away from Garrett and getting a real OC was long overdue.

Well shit. The Ravens I remember.
I got butterflies at kick off though. I'm happy football is back.

I'm looking forward to Sunday night when the Cowboys jump out to an early lead, blow said lead, then start to mount a miraculous comeback that falls short because of time or some dipshit mistake.
Other than that, I would really appreciated it if Colin Kaepernick, Julio Jones, and Tony Gonzalez scored me a shitload of fantasy points to make up for the fact that Jacoby Jones got taken out of last night's game by his own fucking teammate. Wes Welker was awesome for me, though.

hey now! the Cowboys don't lose to the Giants in week one, we save that shit until the second game/playoffs! ugh. I'm still cautiously optimistic about this season because the normal circlejerk about how good they're going to be hasn't been in effect. i really hope they do some damage this year because Romo, Witten and Ware's window to win is getting slimmer and slimmer.
i am so fucking happy that football is back. i'm going to drink a bottle of whiskey, order some unhealthy food and watch Red Zone all day on Sunday.

i had a horrible fantasy draft. Paid 53 bucks for Brees. Running backs are Chris Johnson and Darren McFadden. Overpaid for Vernon Davis. Bleugh. Looking forward to next season.

the fact that Jacoby Jones got taken out of last night's game by his own fucking teammate. sdfaljkdklsccjklcdajsm Ravens games are the only times I ever, ever talk to my ex-boyfriend, and he was working during the game so I was the one to update him to that clowny bullshit. It was the silliest thing I'd ever seen in football. Well, before Trevathan dropped the ball before the endzone.

DeAngelo Williams is a useless prick and I hope he never plays another snap after Stewart returns.
That is all.

I'm pissed I started Golden Tate instead of Wes Welker but Colin Kaepernick is killing it and helping me make up the difference.

I got my ass kicked this week because Kaepernick and Ray Rice didn't do dick. Also, I started the Dallas defense instead of Seattle's. Goddamnit.

Ray Rice got hurt and Bernard Pierce did well in his place. The Ravens are starting to use him more anyway, so I would grab him off waivers if he is available.

I'm behind by 13, and I still have Welker, but he still has Demariyus Thomas and Julius Thomas, so I'm fucked.

Whoever chose the prime time games this week needs to be slapped upside the head.

The television schedule for this year in general shows a serious lack of foresight by NFL marketing and broadcast gurus.
