Let's hear em, although there's still 2 months left.
For me: The Men - Open Your Heart Titus Andronicus - Local Business Cloud Nothings - Attack on Memory Tame Impala - Lonerism Of Monsters and Men - My Head is an Animal Murder by Death - Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon Dan Deacon - America The xx - Coexist Death Grips - toss up between The Money Store and No Love, Deep Web Spiritualized - Sweet Heart, Sweet Light
Still a bunch of shit that I need to hear, but I'd say 2012 has been pretty fucking awesome musicwise.

I haven't made a list yet, but there has been a lot of releases I've enjoyed this year. Actually a lot more than I thought so I may have to think this one out. Witchcraft, Christian Mistress, Neurosis or The Menzingers would all be very high on my list if I decide to make one.

I should start getting my list together soon. I've pretty much heard everything this year that has a chance of making it.

Kishi Bashi -- 151A was easily the best of the year
Tallest Man on Earth -- There's No Leaving Now Mariachi El Bronx -- Mariachi El Bronx II Metz -- Metz Cloud Nothings -- Attack on whatever Philip Glass + various artists -- Reworks_ Dan Deacon -- America
That's pretty much in order.
not a big fan of titus' new album, but that may change as time goes on.

I didn't know there was a new xx album! Neat. The only things I can think of are Taylor Swift (legitimately good) and MBD. Dead To Me too I guess.

dadsnj.bandcamp.com/ This is pretty rad, if you're into somewhat mathy emo. Seth, Titus was a hell of a grower. I hated it at first, but now I love it. Also I've listened to that Metz a few times but it hasn't fully caught on.

yeah, lots of my friends who like titus love it too, so i dunno, i guess it's gonna take a while for me to come around on it.
Metz is cool.
good link there. Dads NJ. I like it. Reminds me of Anchors Aweigh and Casket Lottery. shit takes me back.

not in order and not really well thought out (yet):
john maus - a collection of rarities and unreleased material frank ocean - channel orange patti smith - banga the men - open your heart windy and carl - we will always be merchandise - children of desire mahmoud ahmed - accompanied by ibex band hank wood and the hammerheads - go home wiccans - lp cairo pythian - toytowne
other things i thought sounded good but have to listen to a few more times to decide:
melody's echo chamber - (whatever this album's called...dunno) the new van morrison (good parent music) neil young - psychedelic pill (sort of...but there are some STINKERS on here too) (how is the new bob mould anyway? can't believe i still haven't listened to it)
oh yeah, and christian mistress! DUH. so bummed they broke up.

The Menzingers - On The Impossible Past The Gaslight Anthem - Handwritten Holy Fever RSD 7" (IT COUNTS, IT WAS SO GOOD) Craig Finn - Clear Heart Full Eyes Titus Andronicus - Local Business John K. Samson - Provincial Hop Along - Get Disowned The Men - Open Your Heart The Mountain Goats - Transcendental Youth Hot Water Music - Exister forgetters - forgetters
Liked Japandroids and The Tower and The Fool as well. Joyce Manor disappointed me. Lucero and Ceremony were meh.

I've been slacking hard with keeping up with stuff this year. I've yet to listen to the new Hot Water Music, Murder By Death, Cory Branan, Stars, and Titus Andronicus. I'm also incredibly excited to hear the new Forgetters album.

I've been terrible at keeping up with music lately. Going to use this thread to get myself caught up.

Forgetters came out today and it is right now my favorite album of this year, though it may settle back behind Transcendental Youth.

kind of in order. it'd be really tough to order right now, but this year has been awesome for music.
Frank Ocean - Channel Orange Propagandhi - Failed States The Men - Open Your Heart Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d. city Converge - All We Love We Leave Behind Title Fight - Floral Green Every Time I Die - Ex-Lives CREEM - s/t Merchandise - Children of Desire Torche - Harmonicraft
i also really liked Godspeed You! Black Emperor - 'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!, but i've only listened to it once, so i'm not sure where it will end up. same thing with Pentimento's s/t but that only just came out today. for some reason, i've also only heard The Menzingers album once and haven't had a chance to get to HWM and Murder By Death yet either. i got a lot of catching up to do.

Casey's up there with Time Tables and Red, White, and Blues as the best Menzingers songs ever written.

I feel pretty safe saying Giant Orange is my album of the year. The next 19 or so get a little cloudier.

I feel like I'm going to be omitting a lot of stuff when I make my list because there's been a ton of great releases this year but I haven't had the time to listen to them all thoroughly.

The new Cory Branan is so much better than I expected it to be.
