this is streaming on NPR right now. www.npr.org/2012/02/06/146463100/first-listen-grimes-visionsAfter the intro track, I thought, "I'm probably not going to like this." But then the second track hit and also the rest of it and I'm surprsingly attracted. If you've heard it, how does it compare to her other stuff? SHIT. I just barely saw this, my apologies! Ummm since you've probably listened to all of it by now, how'd you like it? Well, her other stuff is a looooot less poppy. Like, her first album was very I guess, droney? But not even good droney.. but just like, noisy, ya know? Not a lot of vocal melodies or anything. But I still dig it. Visions is probably the most listenable album of them all though. When I say that I mean: you can probably listen to the whole album in its entirety without wanting to skip the majority of songs, unlike her other stuff.

okay, i am definitely excited to hear the new Every Time I Die after hearing this song. I never listened much to their last lp, but i fucking loved the big dirty i gotta pull their music up again. streaming now: soundcloud.com/epitaph-records/sets/every-time-i-die-ex-lives/s-KSLFBafter one listen, this is easily the best Every Time I Die album yet. the new drummer was a HUGE addition. Partying is Such Sweet Sorrow is probably my favorite song, that banjo at the beginning is a great touch.

I know that's supposed to be totally uncool, but I would be lying if I said I didn't like a bunch of stuff that flirts with that style. Visions has really gotten under my skin and there was a good week there where almost everything else sounded stale by comparison.

I re-listened to her earlier albums again recently and my description is pretty useless, actually hahaha. It's not like witch house, that I know haha. It might have elements of it though! Ahh yeah, I definitely feel ya on that. Very few things make me wanna dance, but her album does just that. Sooo gooood. Also, she has a new video out for Oblivion, jsyk~

motherfucking THE MEN's new album is streaming now. myblogcliche.blogspot.com/2012/03/stream-men-open-your-heart.htmli loved Leave Home and I really came around on Immaculada, so I can't wait to give this a couple listens. the one song I heard and the first song on the album give me a Buzzcocks and a Replacements vibe, respectively. I have a feeling I'm gonna really enjoy this.

Surprised this hasn't been posted already. I cannot wait for this record. The only bummer is that it's only 13 minutes long, and one of the songs is a cover.

The new No Trigger album is ace. Picks up right where they left off on Canyoneer. I also gave the new Cheap Girls album a listen and it's good stuff. Reminds me a lot of 90's rock.

Everyone was saying at SXSW that she killed it. Stoked. Might preorder it on red vinyl.

Just now I was thinking, "what is Chelsea Wolfe doing these days? I like her stuff, especially that one album." So I looked on the interenet and found that she recently released an EP of Rudimentary Peni covers. <3
