came out 18 years ago today.
still the most influential piece of music i have ever listened to.
whatever i'm into can probably be traced back to this.
too bad this band is poopy now.
you're probably lying if you say you don't love this album.
have a great day.

I was in elementary school when this came out.
We had a talent show in the cafegymnatorium.
Some boys in a grade ahead of me decided their talent was playing in an air band.
So basically it was them standing their with their left arms out and their right hands scratching their balls as "Basket Case" played on a cassette in a boom box on the floor.
That was their show.

Probably the first bit of punk music I was exposed to. Still remember my bro telling me I could only listen to Basket Case and then sneaking into his room to listen to the rest of the album one day.

I always kinda liked Kerplunk and Insomnia. Never liked anything else. This album is leaps and bounds above everything they've done. Good from start to finish.

I was way more obsessed with Insomniac when I was a kid, but this one was always a close second. This band had such a huge impact on me.

Insomniac is my personal favorite.
CLosely followed by Nimrod.
Actually I love everything up to and including Warning.
I like American Idiot, but hate everything that came from it...
Like when I saw them in 2001 at the Big Kahuna in Wilmington DE, a standing room only venue probably a couple thousand max, I got a ticket the day of the show. I went alone, and it still remains one of my favorite shows ever. Try doing that in this day and age.
21st century breakdown is dog poo.
and the musical. ooof.

I admittedly haven't listened to this album nearly as much as I should have. It's got everything I love about Green Day on it, including the first song I ever learned on guitar.

I honestly can't stand this album. Or any Green Day for that matter.
I'm probably the worst person ever.

I never listened to Dookie much outside of the singles. I was a lot more into Insomniac for whatever reason.

I was alone.
I was all by myself.
