I love me some serious Emmylou Harris. I got to see her a few years ago (maybe 2006 or 2007? I might have still been in high school) and I got to hear her perform a bunch of her more recent stuff. It was all pretty amazing.
"Thunder Rolls" by Garth Brooks was the first real song I could sing all the lyrics too. I've got a serious soft spot for it.

I love Loretta Lynn, her book comes highly recommended! The other day someone posted something about "queer Americana," and apparently that's a thing so I've been weeding through those bands and I really like Mount Moriah

I really dig the novelty songs of the 60s, too.

i have the weirdest fucking crush on lucinda williams. this is maybe my favorite Townes track; the Nashville Sessions version with the banjo is a little better, though. i also have a crush on iris dement: I love me some serious Emmylou Harris. I got to see her a few years ago (maybe 2006 or 2007? I might have still been in high school) and I got to hear her perform a bunch of her more recent stuff. It was all pretty amazing. I actually saw her a couple weeks ago at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and I totally agree. Her stage presence is insane.
