I was actually on a Dinosaur Jr. kick the other day. Always liked most of this stuff but don't listen to enough of it.

cosigned. i have it on tape! alien lanes is what got me hooked though. if i could just have written one of robert pollard's hundreds of brilliant little pop songs, i'd be patting myself on the back for a lifetime. yet he has like a billion albums full of them. dude is a hook-machine!!

Haha I've put "Mykel & Carli" on like 50 mixes this year. I've been so obsessed with that song. And it's been especially sad to me with the passing of Mikey Welsh. Definitely one of their bests along with "You Gave Your Love to me Softly." Nick, you should google the story behind the song. So sad. So so so so fucking sad.

i've spent the last hour listening to songs from this thread. goddamn. makes me realize how much i love Slowdive and Slint, but i also realized how many bands i've slept on.
my contribution, just because it's been stuck in my head all day.

I think sometime last summer I posted this on my Facebook and proclaimed it to be my favorite Sonic Youth song, which it is. I woke up to this email from the man that later would become my boyfriend:
