I hope the single character focused episodes choose to focus on Franklin, Carl Weathers, Steve Holt, Bob Loblaw, White Power Bill, Maria, Annyong, and Barry Zuckercorn. And they never interact with the main cast.

I'm afraid I've prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run if you will, and now I'm afraid I have something of a mess on my hands.

Speaking of, I love how Dan Castelleneta keeps calling himself the best doctor in the city, then county, then state... So good.

Netflix raised the prices recently simply to acquire the necessary funds to outbid the networks.

BRINGING THIS BACK. Who has watched season 4 already? I had no other plans, so I watched the entire thing yesterday while I was nursing my hangover. Spoiler-free thoughts, i REALLY enjoyed this season. It started off kind of slow, but by halfway through the season, it felt like I was watching the same old Arrested Development that I know and love. I've seen some complaints about green screening, but the only time I really noticed it was in the Oscar/George Sr. scenes. Ultimately, I thought the writing was just as good as the previous seasons and there were some great new in-jokes and callbacks to old jokes. the character-specific episodes didn't seem to hurt the flow at all, in fact, it was kind of nice how everything ended up tying together at certain points and see where each character was at. I REALLY want to know what happened to Lucille 2. They made it seem like Michael is the prime suspect, which is why i was surprised that Buster was the one arrested. If there was a security camera there, you'd think that they would have seen Michael and Lucille 2 at the top of the stair car or at least have some footage of how her body got there and why it wasn't there seconds later. I really can't wait for another season or at least a movie to wrap all of this up. I feel like the whole movie subplot was kind of hinting that they'd rather do another season than a movie to wrap everything up. either way, SOMETHING has to happen and I feel like Netflix will make it happen.
also a side note, I thought Kristen Wiig was perfect as young Lucille. Seth Rogen as George Sr. wasn't as bad as a lot of people were probably thinking, but it did feel kind of forced at times. the casting for this season was spot on otherwise.

I've watched up to episode five; the first few were kinda slow (and uncomfortably awkward) but it's picking up a bit. I loved the Thanksgiving Miracle bit.

I think I'm on episode 12 now, I love it. It started off REALLY dodgy but it's gotten so much better. The only thing I hate is Kristin Wiig as Young Lucille. She plays her like an SNL sketch, it's awful.

I'm 10 episodes in, and I've enjoyed the hell out of it, even if it has major flaws. For one, they were much too ambitious with the intersecting storylines. They should have simplified it and focused more on jokes (of which there are plenty, don't get me wrong). And throwing the whole Oscar/George Sr. dynamic into the mix makes things way too confusing sometimes. Secondly, the fact that, for logistic reasons, they could rarely film the whole cast together really hurts it at times. Having each episode focus on one character works sometimes, but this is a show that works best when you have the whole ensemble.

Just watched the first GOB episode and it was fantastic. I like that they reference the old jokes, but aren't trying to rely on them.

Finished it up today. I dunno, I have mixed feelings, and I think I need to watch it again. The last few episodes have soooo much exposition; sometimes it feels like half the episode is Ron Howard explaining everything. That said, the Buster episode is really good, and the Maeybe one might be my favorite. They gave Alia Shawkat a lot to do and she totally knocked it out of the park.

Kristen Wiig as young Lucille is awesome, i have no idea what you guys are talking about. she nails the facial expressions and the general attitude perfectly but isn't too overdramatic imho. i can see why some people might be put off, but I really don't have much complaints about that. i really didn't like Seth Rogen as young George Sr. the first watch, but while he might be a weak part, I didn't mind him so much on the second playthrough. the 'we have the BEST F*&CKING attorneys' line made me laugh really hard the first time and it was no different the second time. some of his facial expressions were pretty great too. honestly, the second watch is WAY better, because there's some jokes you really can't pick up the first time in particular, when Michael mentions being in Altitude, but P-Hound thinks it's Attitude, you can see the Tony Wonder article on the front page even though they don't mention the gay magician act until GOB's episode. there's quite a few good callbacks and hints to future jokes in the first couple episodes too that I really didn't notice earlier, so it makes the first three episodes a bit stronger. I honestly think they did the best job with what they had available. a couple of the actors have hinted towards another season plus a movie, so I honestly hope this happens because they seriously left a lot of things unanswered, but i think that was the ultimate intent of the creators. of course the disappearance of Lucille 2 is at the top, but I honestly think Sally Sitwell has more to do with that than the Bluths. i think what Michael is ashamed of in the first episode is playing The Thing in Tobias' musical. I think he might have done that to pay off his debt, since Lucille's brother was involved, rather than sleeping with Lucille 2. Looking at the last few episodes, it's really hard to tell who is in the costume, but it looks like it might be Michael. It also really looked like they were going for a completely different feel, e.g. Oscar being more dominant and George being softer and Michael trying to have sex with Lucille 2 to solve a problem, among other things. plus, George Michael hitting Michael gave me a big flashback to him hitting GOB in season 3. same kind of situation, but quite a bit different on the people involved. I can't say if I like it more than the first three seasons, but this season definitely met my expectations, but still left me wanting for a lot more AD.

I don't really get some of the backlash. For real. you would have thought they added episodes of a snuff porno the way people were reacting. My favorites were the Maeby and Buster episodes. I also loved Kristen Wiig as young Lucille but hate Seth Rogan as George Sr. I'm starting to hate Seth Rogan in general now though. Every movie with him now is like 'hey im seth rogan i like weed he's my trademark stoner giggle. are we done now?'.
