In case you've been spared my spamming via Twitter and Tumblr, this is the new supergroup of Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss (ex-Sleater-Kinney), Mary Timony (ex-Helium) and Rebecca Cole (The Minders). It's a fucking killer record, and everyone should listen to it. It comes out Tuesday, but I think it's still streaming on NPR's site. Anyone else heard it? Thoughts?

YES. Their album is really fun. I love Romance, and the video is p funny.
In October they are playing in the city where my sister goes to school, so I'm going to try realllllllllllllly hard to go. If I could see Carrie Brownstein in person, it would be amazing ;__;.

I'm hoping I can still make it to the show in Boston. I absolutely need to see this band. It's not the same as seeing Sleater-Kinney, but it's as close as I'm gonna get for now.

Listened to this last night and I really enjoyed it. "Electric Band" is my favorite.

Aww, I was looking forward to it! Maybe you'll find yourself down here another time. What me to pick up any merch for you?

Oh shit, that would be rad! If they're selling this shirt (the black one): Could you pick one up in XXL? If they don't have that size, don't worry about it. You will be handsomely rewarded with $ and/or Vermont treats if you so wish! And yeah, I'll totally be down to Boston at some point, whether it's for shows or hockey.

I can't make it to their show, either Stupid car troubles and lack of money.

Sweet! Also, if you could tell Carrie and Janet they're my heroes, that'd be awesome.

Actually, you don't have to worry about it, because I'm going. I'm hauling ass out of here right after work, and I'm 95% sure I'll make it in time for their set.
This will either be the worst or the best decision I've ever made.

This will either be the worst or the best decision I've ever made. It was the best. The show was fucking amazing, and I got to meet Janet Weiss I just shook her hand and said thanks. That's all I could come up with without going all fanboy and making an ass of myself, haha.

I need to just listen to the album already. They're playing LA on halloween so that might be fun, and I think there's another show a few days later too.

Oh, and they played two new songs, "Nothing" and "Winter Pair." "Nothing" has a great hook, and "Winter Pair" rocks like a motherfucker; easily the fastest song they've done yet. They also covered "See No Evil" by Television.

They're touring again in the spring, starting in late March. I'll be at the Boston show again for sure, and probably the one in New Haven as well.
