i know we have a pop-punk thread, but i feel like this one could be of use? if not, i'll just move posts over to that thread. first up, the reason i wanted to make this thread: HOLY FEVER. check out 2 of the 3 songs from their 7" here: www.facebook.com/HolyFever?sk=app_178091127385like, half of the members of Suicide File are in this band and they fucking rule. very awesome rock'n'roll influenced punk. Rat's Feet Over Broken Glass is easily one of my favorite tracks this year. Cloak/Daggerbeen in love with these guys since the first time I heard Lost Art. another rock'n'roll influenced band, guitars sound quite a bit like Hot Snakes and Swiz. i wish there were like, any tracks from Lost Art up on youtube, but We Are fucking rules too. Cobra Skullsone of my favorite Fat Wreck bands. they're just so much fun! and of course, can't go through the first post without mentioning Dead To Me, The Menzingers, Off With Their Heads, ETC ETC ETC so fuck it, let's UP THE PUNX.

Haha yeah, I think you could probably just put all this into the pop-punk thread.

I'm sorry, but I can't see how either Holy Fever or Cloak/Dagger would even be remotely classified pop punk. Cobra Skulls is questionable. but i'd also argue Tongan Death Grip.

I was looking more at Cobra Skulls, Dead to Me, The Menzingers, and OWTH. Not that those bands aren't punk, I just meant that I think they'd fit fine in the pop-punk thread.

yeah, the Menzingers are like, the definition of pop-punk haha. but I'm just being obnoxious.
punk that I love right now:
School Jerks Pollution Government Warning Libyans Human Mess Wiccans Confines Nomos Crazy Spirit
as always, I've been in the mood for a lot of old-school punk lately too. Stiff Little Fingers, Adicts, Victimize, etc.

listening to Damned right now.
TSOL so perfectly straddled goth and punk. they helped open me up to a lot of more poncey, gothic stuff back in high school.

Oh my god, thank you for reminding me Stiff Little Fingers exist. Haven't listened to them in high school and now I'm all up in some Inflammable Material.

Pissed Jeans also rule hard. I'm really hoping for a Pissed Jeans/Ceremony tour now that they're both on Matador.

It's so weird that Pissed Jeans is ex-Ultimate Warriors. Rad, though.
Listened to Punk in Drublic twice on Friday. I Love the Adicts. Even their shitty stuff is decent. And their middle years stuff, what the hell? No one ever talks about it but there are some bangers.

The real rhythmic stuff The Adicts put out always snared me. I absolutely love songs like "Hello Farewell Goodbye." These guys can be so frickin catchy at times. Man, I haven't listened to them in years! I don't know why, but they always remind me The Toy Dolls, haha.

gravemistakerecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-other-side-of-darknessthe two new Night Birds songs are so killer, I really do love their surf punk vibe. not too many bands doing that today, but they kill it. also, if you're not listening to Masshysteri, you are toootally missing out. best Swedish punk band in quite a while, it's such a bummer that they're broken up/on hiatus. they have two records out, not sure if they're still available for purchase or not? anyways, the newest is self-titled and the other is titled Var Del Av Stan, googling will give you results if you want. www.myspace.com/masshysteri
