Yeah, she looks great. When I saw the actress months ago I was kind of disheartened, but I've forgotten what made me feel that way now. She isn't particularly ugly, but of course, neither is Peter Dinklage, so we might leave some room for "The people of Westeros are fucking jerks who have a very narrow definition of attractiveness."

Such a good show, I caught up tonight. I'm rarely this interested in keeping up with anything.

It helps that there's only 10 eps per season. Less chance of filler. Season 3 has already been greenlit, and they're splitting Book 3 over seasons 3 & 4. Which I think is a smart decision considering how massive that book is. RED WEDDING SEASON 3 CLOSER. Arya getting axed as final image. I'm guessing.

I love this programme but I hate Tyrion's accent.

Oh yeah, I love Peter Dinklage but his accent is pretty cringey. Littlefinger loses his quite a bit too.

I liked it OK during the first season, but I think I was paying more attention to it lately because I agree now, haha. I explain shit like that by saying it's a fantasy setting, so any accent weirdness is because they're not real accents anyway. . .they just sound vaguely British. Yeahhh.

When was the last time I said Joffrey could not die soon enough? Fuck.
I think I should probably applaud that kid's acting for making him soooo loathsome though, haha. I wonder if people who see him in real life have to pause and remember not to hate him when they see his face.

Some thoughts (contains book 2 spoilers): -That extra scene with Joffrey was awfully gratuitous. I mean, how many reminders do we need that he's a psychopath?
-Loved the verbal sparring between Littlefinger and Margaery.
-Dany is a sympathetic and awesome character, but sometimes I forget that, when she gets the chance, she's gonna burn the whole fucking world down, and that includes the Starks and other people I like.
-The shadow demon birth scene looked AWESOME. They clearly blew their whole CGI budget on that scene, haha.
Also, someone who's read the books refresh my memory: do we (the reader) know about the shadow before it kills Renly? I feel like you don't know what it is until after the murder. Which I think is a mistake on the part of the show; the murder is a much bigger "WTF" moment if you don't know who/what is behind it.

Had to dig out the book and look again, but you do know about the shadow before Renly dies. The book is roughly chronological, unless I missed some things skimming the chapters for the right one, and the chapter with Davos is before the one with Catelyn witnessing Renly's death.

Some book 2 spoilers. I'm pretty sure we always knew Stannis was behind Renly's murder. I don't remember how specific the birth was but there was definite dark shape description and shadow talk.
The extra Joffrey scene added nothing but something for fucked up dudes to get off on. I'm really unhappy about it. I don't understand why they're inventing scenes that add nothing to the narrative. They've basically just created Ros to be abused by every lord in King's Landing. Do not want. We already know Joffrey's a depraved fuck and that he hates Tyrion. And if we don't see Tyrion's reaction to the beaten girl, what's the point? It didn't escalate the game between them.
Did love the Tyrion/Lancel scene. Lancel has a great panicked face.
Um. This episode was okay. I don't like how they're undercutting Cat's political and strategic skills. How many times do we need to hear her called a mother like it's the worst thing ever? They've already robbed her of trying to unite the Baratheon brothers being her idea. It's weakening her and I don't approve.
Loved the Jayne/new name scene. I'm not fussed over her character being changed as we never got to see much of Jayne anyway. And now that Robb's not 14 it makes sense that he'd be more committed to his duty to the Frey's so it would take a lot more than pretty girl nursing him to make him break that.
People who hate Sansa are dicks. Seriously.
I find myself fairly uninterested in the Dany storyline. I might still be pissed off that they killed Rakharo for no reason, though. And unless I hear that he requested to leave the show to work somewhere with a bigger role, I will never be not pissed about it.
And seriously, nobody even died in the crossing except Rakharo and a horse. Someone dying of starvation would have been much more effective than BEHEADING BY PEOPLE WE DON'T SEE UNTIL THE END OF BOOK 5. And they killed him in season one anyway.
Oh, loved the Arya storyline. It's wickedly compressed, but I feel like it's still working pretty well. Missed Jaqen H'gar, for personal reasons.

Ugh, that Joffrey scene was so gross. I seriously felt physically sick while watching it.
Also, I really need to stop reading the spoilers since I haven't read the book yet. Hahah.

And if they REALLY needed to show Joffrey advancing into sexual violence they could have just cut that scene and had the abused sex worker sent to Tyrion after the fact. You'd know exactly what had happened without having to see a scene of him gleefully abusing more women.

Finished Season 1 last night. Gonna start Season 2 tonight. Jesus, Joffrey is the worst goddamn character ever, along with Cersei. Shat bricks when Daenerys busted out the dragons. Still kinda shocked they killed Ned at the end of the season, but that just means that shit is going to get real in S2.

Did it really have to take like five hacks for Theon to take off Ser R_____'s head. I wanna say Riddick but that's not it. Roderick? Whatever point still stands it was awful to watch even if they didn't show it. Same with Sansa nearly being raped.
I feel like they're amping up Tyrion's one liners a bit too much. Like they know how much people love Peter Dinklage now and they're just overdoing it. Also slapping Joffrey is fun and all but it's getting to be ...too convenient or something. Like okay fans we know what you like LOL let's slap Joffrey.
I think I must be the only person in the world who just does not enjoy Daenerys's story-line at all. Like, all the places she goes and peoples she interacts with are totally interesting but she herself is like ... god I just don't care. Maybe it's the acting. I'm so tired of listening to her angry-scream at people.

Tanya: I think the Theon beheading was to contrast with Ned's at the beginning of the series. Ned did it in one clean swoop, while Theon did it shitty and uncleanly, kinda hinting that he's gonna be an awful Lord of Winterfell.
I could watch Joffrey being slapped all goddamn day.
Daenerys is getting old, but the dragons getting stolen at the end kinda made that better. It's just like "OH I AM A TAREGARYN AND PEOPLE SHOULD RESPECT THE FUCK OUT OF ME AND I'M KHALESSI. Yeah, your dad was a shitty ass king that got himself kicked off the throne and killed, and nobody gives a fuck about the Dothraki after Khal Drogo died. I'm assuming you found a place to watch it?

I just torrent episodes off Pirate Bay now. I think it's more fair to say that the Dothraki don't give a fuck about Dany now that Drogo's dead haha. Unless you mean the fans (I care though ). It sucks that they basically wiped out all of the Dothraki with Dany but like, one in the last episode. Apparently in the books a lot of them don't die until later on? Though I think I'd just rather see them move on to their own devices then continue following her around while she makes empty promises to them. The nations outside of Westeros are really interesting though it's probably best they don't get too deep into them; it's already hard as hell to keep track of all these storylines. I mean it works in a sprawling books series but it's a bit much for TV. That's definitely a good point about Ned vs. Theon. I more meant that it made me mad uncomfortable haha.

Let me clear that up. I don't really give a fuck about Dany, or even the Dothraki at all now that Drogo's dead. Their dynamic was the most interesting part of that story.

Dany in the books is nowhere near as annoying as Dany on TV.

No, her storyline on TV is so fucking boring. And they've missed the point a lot. And are killing people who are still alive in Book 5. I'm just so sick of all the rape. Do we have to show it every time a woman is sexually brutalised? I don't want to be getting into an episode only to see a sixteen year old girl held down with her legs yanked apart. Like, really. Did that even happen in the books? I don't think it did.
The rest of the episode was pretty good, but bloody hell. And the cliffhanger was a bit meh. I don't really care what happens to Dany's dragons, especially after I've just seen that her first reaction to the people she dragged halfway across the world being murdered was 'Ohhhh noooooo the draaaaaagggooooooooonnnnnnnnsssss!'
Anyway, good things. The Winterfell stuff was all really good. Sir Roderick's death was sad and gross and brutal, and I'm glad most of it was offscreen. I did like the parallels with Ned. All the Harrenhaal stuff was awesome (though how the fuck is Baelish hopping around everywhere so quickly, does Westeros have a fast travel option?) and the riot scene was great, bar the Sansa bit.
Ygritte is perfect, Osha is wonderful. I can't believe you guys didn't pick her as Tonks! Natalia Tena is wonderful, I've loved her since About a Boy. Also I want to hit all the people who complained about her boobs on twitter because she's stunning and so are her boobs.
Oh, and I'm with Tanya. So sick of Joffrey getting slapped. How many times can you be surprised that someone's hit you? It's getting old, find something new to shock him with.
Oh, and Tanya, Tyrion's like that in the books. He pretty relentlessly 'witty.' He annoys the shit out of me, but I'm alone in that one haha. I like him a lot more in the show though because Peter Dinklage is lovely.

Yeah I figured it was just part of his character as well, and I guess in a weird way I'm glad I'm getting annoyed by him because I feel like I was liking his character too much haha.
