I think the moment I realised I was no longer very goth was when I noticed how much I liked the sounds of the tropics. it was all over after that.

I took a music theory class in 11th grade so I know a little piano and how to read music. Kind of wish I continued studying it in my spare time.

I can play one song on piano. I wrote it so I'd have something to play at the piano.

I always wanted to be a bass player. This may have come from it being the only instrument my friends didn't play when I was a kid and it was the only way they'd let me be in their band. I used to turn my guitar strings as low as possible and play along with the sloppiest sound ever.
I want to learn to play the piano and the saxophone.

Top four instruments I can play in order of skill:
1) Trumpet 2) French Horn 3) Piano 4) Bass
Bass I can barely play. I used to be ace at Die For Your Government, though.
I would really like to own a French Horn, but they're sooooo expensive. Womp womp.

I have the feeling that I could never play a wind instrument so I didn't list one. I've wanted to try out the baritone saxophone, though.

I was always vexed by how many keys they had to use. I thought it was almost impossible.
Later in life, I learned to appreciate that it was equally hard to play different notes just by changing your embouchure.
edit- I just looked at your list, and realized you may not have been talking about woodwinds v. brass, but just wind instruments in general.

Yeah, wind instruments in general. Feel like I would run out of breath within 5 seconds of playing one.

the saxophone is the only instrument I can play, haha. I used to be really good at it, but haven't touched it since I got out of high school. the bari sax fucking sucks to play if you're small though, i tried it out in jr high, but i wasn't that tall and it was a struggle to reach the bottom keys. i miss band.

Try this! That reminds me. When I was at Idyllwild, there was this girl who couldn't be taller than 4'5", couldn't weigh more than 65 lbs, who played the tuba. All the other tuba players were tall, heavyset, and male. What made this even better was that every year there was a football game contested between the tubas of the band and the basses of the orchestra, who were similarly built. She played. Instant hero. Top four instruments I can play in order of skill: 1) Trumpet 2) French Horn 3) Piano 4) Bass Bass I can barely play. I used to be ace at Die For Your Government, though. I would really like to own a French Horn, but they're sooooo expensive. Womp womp. I've got a horn, a Conn . My parents got it for me for my birthday in 8th grade, my second year of playing. They're great. In the last few years though, I've wanted a new, better horn. I've had this one for ten years and have dragged it all over the country playing in different competitions, concerts and shows, banging it against pretty much anything in my path. It also got run over by a bus once, but that bulky Conn case I used to think was annoyingly awkward saved it. It's kind of surprising it's not scrap metal at this point. Also, I think I'd like something with a smaller bore just because I've played others' horns and I liked the resistance. Several times in the past I've been on the edge of landing a gig either through past instructors, people I've met in the recording business, or parents of my mother's students who work in the film industry. I've never had the confidence to commit with any of them. My "dumpy" horn isn't the main reason for that, but it's at least part of it I think. It's totally lame of me, after reading your post I feel happy I even have one in the first place. I was talking about wanting to get a new horn with my mother recently and she was quite oblivious to their cost. She and my dad paid something like $1,500 for mine used, which is a fraction of the price of the same model new. She was shocked to hear that I know people who play $20,000+ horns. These are custom built horns, of course. I'm not asking for that, but if I ever have the confidence to drop thousands of dollars on a thing, it probably won't be a French horn. One day.... The one thing I don't do anymore that I miss the most is playing in an orchestra. There's nothing better than being on stage, completely immersed in pure, acoustic sound.

okay, embarassing list time. This is my 'twenty most-played artists played in 2006 but not in the last three years' list, courtesy of twothreefall.co.uk/lastfmexplorer. I excluded artists that I spelled wrong for whatever reason and also things that aren't musical artists (Nike, Homestar Runner, Earthworks Microphones, etc.) 01 Pegasuses-XL 02 Bomb The Music Industry! 03 Peter Adams 04 Consumed 05 Girl Talk 06 Drive Like Jehu (I don't believe this) 07 The Red Chord 08 Flogging Molly 09 Wolfmother 10 DragonForce 11 Verse 12 Tool 13 Apoptygma Berzerk 14 RuPaul (I don't believe this either. The RuPaul xmas album is a staple of the holiday season) 15 From. 16 Electric Six 17 Kelly 18 Leftöver Crack 19 Combichrist 20 Metallica (I guess I haven't, but still: wat.)

I played around on that site a bit and found this.
Top 10 Most Plays of an Artist In a Week: 1. 15/03/2009: 227 - Propagandhi 2. 07/12/2008: 192 - Jawbreaker 3. 07/06/2009: 171 - Nine Inch Nails 4. 26/07/2009: 164 - Bad Religion 5. 06/07/2008: 153 - Alkaline Trio 6. 14/02/2010: 150 - Ryan Adams 7. 28/06/2009: 149 - Dinosaur Jr. 8. 06/09/2009: 144 - Darkest Hour 9. 18/05/2008: 143 - Alkaline Trio 10. 09/11/2008: 143 - Hot Water Music
I like how the most recent one was over a year ago. All of those Propagandhi plays are probably from when I was reviewing Supporting Caste haha. The NIN and Alk3 plays are from during the weeks when I saw them live.
Just realized that Alkaline Trio shows up twice. I am not surprised in the least bit.
Edit: just looked around the site a little bit. When the fuck did I listen to The Sword over 100 times in a week? Did I fall asleep with my iTunes playing a loop or something? Because I did that a lot my senior year of high school.
