I don't really go see comedies in the theater unless they're like, Shoot Em Up or Hot Fuzz. I don't see the point in wasting a giant screen on a film that isn't gonna be visually monstrous. but I'll defs catch this on DVD. looks pretty cool/funny, and it's nice to see that someone made a comedy movie about women that doesn't seem rampagingly sexist..

I LAUGHED SO HARD

Saw it!
I laughed way too hard at the ugly carrots scene. I don't know why. I don't think that needs spoiler tags. Plus, this movie is like 3-4 weeks old now.

It's oldish in the US, but still hasn't been released in AUS, UK or Europe. And most probably nowhere else. But then, I should really just stop checking this thread.

I thought the last half or so lagged a bit but maybe it's because the first half was so funny. Did someone say something about not really feeling all that bad for Wiig's character? Yeah I kind of got that too. Just glad she only became so unstable and selfish because of legit reasons instead of omg why am i not married waaah. But it was still like "who the hell behaves this way" especially during the jewelry store scenes. I don't care how fucked up your life is, you don't argue with a teenager about BFFEs breaking up, that was stupid.
also I was kind of thrown off by a movie set in Milwaukee or some shit with no less than three characters from the UK? Like she's living with two British people and falls for a guy from.. fucking Ireland I don't even know. At first I thought he had like some kind of really thick North Dakota / Canadian-ish accent. Haha so random.

My only complaint was that there weren't enough scenes with, uh, the bridesmaids. Ellie Kemper and Wendi McLendon-Covey needed more screentime. God yes this movie needed more of Wendi's character. Is Ellie Kemper Erin from the Office? Because I don't like her on there and she was basically the same person here so I could have done without that. "I wanna see Criss Angel, but I'm scared," cracked me up though.

Aaaaaaand they still don't get it. movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=652032>1=281031. It's really annoying that so much of the focus is on the men involved in the movie, like somehow they are completely responsible for showing thems womenfolks the way 2. I should really stop being surprised when the entirely wrong "take-home message" is received. The rating of the movie doesn't matter. We don't need more (or less) R movies...just more that aren't terrible. 2a. Already not terribly excited about the potential glut of "raunchy chick flicks" that are likely going to be even more horrible than the crap that's already thrown our way.

bummer there's some decent stuff on the second page like this:
I pretty much hate any of this type of analysis anyways, cause it treats humans like they're robots but that's statistics I guess
oh, and if there's a sequel (please no) to this it better be called something other than "Bridesmaids 2"

TWO? TWO WHOLE PITCHES BY TWO WHOLE STUDIOS? Give me a fucking break. That highlights the problem more than anything. Studios weren't even willing to buy pitches before Bridesmaids? I'd always assumed they at least made it to treatment level but jesus christ.
No shit. It's not like we make up half of the population or anything.
Successful screenwriters. I'd imagine there's a lot more out there who find it difficult to get gigs over men in many genres in film and TV.

No shit. It's not like we make up half of the population or anything. Who the fuck do they think sees movies? Women go see movies aimed at women AND men. Men go see movies aimed at men. Don't act like it's some great miracle / surprising fact that women went to see A movie, let alone this movie. How many pitches have they made for comedies to relate to men in that time frame? God knows like every preview we had to sit through before Bridesmaids was a comedy aimed at men, other than that Tom Hanks / Julia Roberts one.

Only about a quarter of pitches even get through to production, which is why I thought they must have been at least buying some women driven films before this and they all just died out along the way. And given how many horrible man driven comedies (horrible for how shit so many of them are, not for the sole reason of them being man driven) DO get made there must be fucking hundreds of pitches for them bought a year.
The fact that there may not have been a single one among all that for women is just sdjkfhasdkjfh.

I know this is super dumb, but the part where Melissa McCarthy's character tells Kristin Wiig not to complain about not having friends to talk to has really resonated with me.
I find myself doing that from time to time and I really don't wanna be that person.

That part made me really sad because they kind of just...glossed over it. Obviously Megan wanted to be better friends and Kristen Wiig was just like "waaah, me."

Yeah, she made a really good point and then Kristin Wiig's character was like "You know, you're right. See ya. I'm gonna go make friends with the rich chick so that I can get Maya Rudolph to like me again."

finally watched it again. it's kind of embarrassing to say but this movie hit me straight in the heart ever since my bfflz of like 9 years moved in with her boyfriend and decided she was "growing up" and stopped hanging out with me. except she's the white blonde and i'm the brown brunette. i spent half the time in suspense wondering what was going to happen to them, hahaha.
great movie overall. couldn't stop laughing at annie getting sweatier and sweatier during the dress fitting and her going ape shit at the bridal shower.

I finally saw this like a million years later and my roommate and I couldn't stop laughing. Megan was definitely the best, hands down. The plane scenes might have been my favorite hahaha
