Breaking Bad's opening scene is by far the best I've seen, but I think Justified's pilot edges it out slightly as a whole. I actually thought the whole tighty whitey things was kinda cheesy but BB's pilot was amazing. Justified's is better overall, yeah.

Justified's ending is one of the best endings to a pilot ever.

I mean, almost all pilot episodes are terrible; there's way too much exposition and the show tries to justify why it should exist and that's not even including all of the terrible shitass pilot episodes that didn't make it. Very few are even average episodes of the series.
What you're looking for is the following: does it have a cogent plot? Do the characters have any part of a personality that isn't some generic late-20s early-30s white person? Can the writers sum up bigger ideas in very brief bits of dialogue? After you finish watching the pilot, can you explain what you think is going to happen in the series?
BB and Justified answered those latter questions really well in the pilots. Only problem for Justified is where they took it after that, which was a sharp left turn, and things kinda fell apart after that. Season 2 did a much better job and Season 3 was downright amazing. The series survived through the rough parts because of the pilot and also Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins (and the woman who played Mags Bennett and some Jere Burns) acted the shit out of it. If nothing else, Justified could solely exist for the slice of rural Kentucky life stuff. It's awesome.
Anyway, I forgot what I was saying, but the Justified pilot is really good.

Yeah, Justified's first season is a mess. Some of the standalone episodes are really good, but there's too many of them, and after a while you wish they would get back to the main story. I think season 2 is still the high watermark of the show, but 3 comes really close.

I think Breaking Bad's pilot is actually one of my least favorite episodes of the show, but it's very good for a pilot episode. Lost still has my vote for best pilot, with Six Feet Under and The Walking Dead behind it. I like Justified, but even though the pilot was good it didn't really hook me

I'm caught up with Breaking Bad so I'm kind of at a loss for what to watch on the internet, then I thought I'd finally watch season 9 of Roseanne and it's not on netflix anymore

I'm having the opposite problem, I feel like I have way too many netflix shows to watch. I'm on season 4 of The X-Files right now and it's so damn awesome. I recently watched Never Again, with the Jodie Foster tattoo and HOLY SHIT, SO GOOD! Scully, be my best friend please

Roommate and I just watched "grave encounters" and it was the first movie in a long time to creep me out/make me super on-edge while watching it. My brother and I do this thing where we turn on a scary movie on Netflix Instant on our respective TVs and then text each other after all the scary parts, and we just watched this movie and the majority of our texts went something like this: "JESUS FUCK IT TOUCHED HER HAIR IT TOUCHED HER HAAAIIIIRRRR" "WHY IS THERE A TONGUE ON THE FLOOR, WHY IS THAT FUCKER ON THE CEILING." "OKAY. OKAY. A MAN JUST DISAPPEARED IN A BATHTUB OF BLOOD. I AM IN SUCH A HAPPY PLACE RIGHT NOW."
I really liked it, haha.

I'm on season three of Supernatural. . .making progress, making progress. It's probably lucky that having an RP partner who plays Dean makes me biased toward wanting to see more of the show because if not, I probably would have thrown my hands up and said "I HATE YOUR FUCKING FACE" by this point. Not for any character or show related reason, mind. It's just hard for me to watch this much of one show without just coming to hate one of the actors involved. It happened with the X-Files about four seasons in, I just did not want to see David Duchovny's face ever again.

Been watching Dinosaurs. Lawdy. I've been meaning to do this but I'm afraid it won't stand up to a rewatch.

We've been on an Arrested Development marathon lately too. So so good.
We've also been watching Red Dwarf and Torchwood, and making our way through all of the foreign-language films. We watched 71 Into the Fire last week. Super-depressing.

I'm pretty into The Killing right now (the Danish one), so fucking tense. And I've been watching documentaries quite a bit. Not all great but kinda interesting - the dungeons and dragons one was intense.

I really liked it, haha. My good friend who is also really into horror recommended this movie to me. I thought it was genuinely one of the worst movies I've ever seen. There was one part that I thought could have been decently creepy, but I was already treating the movie as if it were a joke so it fell flat big time. Stupid concept, atrocious characters, and absolutely zero tension. Just a bunch of people that I hate screaming and being annoying.

I just need somewhere to say that 'Yellow Fever' was such a fun episode of that show that I considered not even watching more, because clearly it had reached its high point. They also clearly rewarded Jensen for an amazing performance by putting that silly Eye of the Tiger thing at the end, haha.
