Twin Peaks was added to instant! if you haven't seen it, go watch it. you won't regret it
I also finished the first two seasons of Dexter. that's probably the only show where the season finales are the worst episodes. weird

I agree with you on season 2. And not that you're there yet, but season 5 as well.

The first 2/3 of Season 5 was pretty rad. After that...not so much.

I don't know. I thought the season 1 finale was the worst episode so far. the reveal that he had a long lost brother who was also a serial killer just had me rolling my eyes. it was too ridiculous, and not in a good way. though I did like the idea that it was like he was rejecting the role he thought he was forced into by birth it's still a pretty good show! I've heard it gets a lot worse after the first two seasons, and I've heard it gets a lot better. I guess I'll see...

I thought that plot line was well done. And the fact that he targeted the person that would make Dexter most vulnerable Season 3 and 4 are my favorite. Season 4 was fucking intense.

it was pretty much the most logical reveal possible in terms of how they set it up, so I don't why it left such a bad impression on me. oh well. I'm glad to hear I have something to look forward to.

So if anything, blame Jeff Lindsay for not liking that ending.

Actually, they followed the general plot from the first book for the first season. So if anything, blame Jeff Lindsay for not liking that ending. But that ending was SO different from the book where LaGuerta dies, Bryan gets away, and Deb is awake the whole time Dexter and Bryan are arguing. The show desperately needs a major shakeup, and that's what the first two episodes of season 5 looked like to me after the insane ending of season 4, but then it just got swept away.

True, but it still follows the book generally. I think the series would have been better if it completely followed the books.

The third book kinda sucked though. And there's no way they could've stretched that one over a whole season. I think the show's problem is that they've written themselves into a corner with how important it is to keep Dexter's secret. They desperately need to have ANYONE close to Dexter find out, but they've built up Deb to be so straight and narrow that they couldn't have her find out and not turn him in.

I caught up with Doctor Who and Torchwood and no longer know what to do with myself. I tried to commence watching the X-Files, and then starting Lost, but apparently I'm not in the mood. Hmmm.

So American: The Bill Hicks Story is on there now and it's pretty interesting. I like the footage of him doing stand-up as a teenager, he's still hilarious and that's awesome to see.
