aka 'the best thing ever to happen to my life show me more cool things' thread. A friend of mine stumbled onto this doc/series and made us watch it yesterday and it was awesome. It's called Thumbs Up. It's two Korean/Korean American guys hitchhiking across various parts of the US. Hitchhiking, hopping freight trains, floating down rivers, etc. They run into some wild people across the way and do some wild shit to hop borders. (Edit: the main guy is also a graffiti artist and massive gambler. When they hit big gambling towns he'll either lose all their money or win big.) I haven't watched the entire thing yet but i'm looking forward to it. Episodes are only 20 minutes so you don't have to set out an entire day to watch. If you don't have Netflix yet you can watch the series here: www.vbs.tv/watch/thumbs-upwww.netflix.com/Movie/Thumbs-Up/70139318?strackid=4946646bfea8672_0_srl&strkid=1903587702_0_0&lnkctr=srchrd-sr&trkid=222336What are some other cool things available on Watch Instantly?

I'm super stoked that a couple series have been updated to include all episodes so that my instant queue isn't packed with 30 seasons of each show. Shit's annoying. I hate having to go through like 14 seasons of King of the Hill, then 9 seasons of X-Files, 11 seasons of SVU, etc. I stopped even putting entire series on there. Man Vs Food and Psych have both put entire series as one addition though. That's how it should be.
Been watching tons of Roseanne, Cosby Show, and Scrubs lately.

Yeah, I mostly use it for TV. I have Futurama, season two of Parks and Rec, Party Down, Better Off Ted, and a couple others.

Yeah I usually use it for TVs or documentaries. I did however watch Friday the other day without seeing it in forever so that was awesome.

I'm currently watching Dexter, The Sarah Silverman Program, Chappelle's Show, and Psych on instant queue and I'm watching them all very slowly. I have Firefly, Buffy, Dollhouse, and Damages all waiting to be watched too, along with a shit ton of movies.
I wish they would add season six of Weeds to instant. I'd watch that in about a day

Transgeneration is on there and I'm nostalgiaing so hard while watching it.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. Also IT Crowd, Fawlty Towers, seasons 1 and 2 of Dexter. I hear Twin Peaks is coming soon, so that's awesome.

Netflix seriously is so awesome. There's so many obscure films and lots of awesome documentaries there. And I need to check out that North Korea documentary because I love North Korea documentaries.

YES. Also, X-Files. I've been watching some older movies that I like that are kind of hard to find, and a bunch of kid's movies. I watched Free Willy the other night and it was awesome. I agree with the general sentiment that this is the best thing ever.

I only have Netflix now for the watch instantly. I think it's the minimum plan thing. I just don't watch the DVDs really.

My sister has an account, so I've been watching a lot of stuff on instant play. But I wish more things were on instant play, ughhhh it's so annoying when something you want comes up dvd only -__- Transgeneration is on there and I'm nostalgiaing so hard while watching it. I'm re-watching that right now!

Also, SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND. I cannot ever finish saying how much I love that show. The first two episodes kind of suck but it will blow you the fuck away afterwards.

Finally got netflix on my tv which is most excellent because watching anything of length on a desktop sucks. This weekend I went through seasons 1-5 of Weeds and plan on watching Archer next. Still plowing through Arrested Development. Right now I'm watching a doc called American Grindhouse which is super interesting so far.
...I should probably read more.

You should watch Rated X by Melvin Van Peebles if you like cinema history docs.
I looooove that they're starting to consolidate TV shows finally. I hate having 80% of my queue filled with the same shows. Like, seriously 13 King of the Hill; 9 X-files, Roseanne, Cosby Show, 5 Futurama, 6 Lost. You know?

All three seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender are on instant play. ;D I'm re-watching the show starting with season 2, because I've watched my dvd's of the first a billion times.
I always forget how wonderfully amazing this show is until I watch episodes again. If no one here has ever seen it, I suggest checking it out! It really sucks you in.

What they did with Archer pissed me off. They had it on there, then they took it down, so I had to buy the DVD. Now it's back. If you want to take my money like that, just point a gun at me. Sheesh.
I really need to get back to Better Off Ted. God, that's a great show.

All the Showtime shows are getting pulled soon so if you want to start watching Dexter or Californication, do it now.

There are too many TV shows and not enough of an attention span. I'm busy with Doctor Who now. Practically in love with David Tennant, though it's not like my usual crushes, somehow. I just like watching him pull faces. His Doctor's sort of a jerk, often, though.

It's partly because Showtime is realizing the Netflix is essentially a pay cable channel at this point, and they don't want to give their content to them. HBO has always been aware of this. Starz is embracing it.

Netflix Watch Instantly has ruined my life, haha. I've watched SO MUCH tv on there it's ridiculous. I finished all seasons of Law and Order: SVU, Party Down, Scrubs, Dexter (that are on there), 30 Rock, Veronica Mars, and The Office. Seriously. So much tv. I just started Season 1 of Lost and I'm already addicted to that. I don't know why but I love television shows. More than movies, I think.
