Do you guys have comics you love regardless of whether they're good? Cause I'm reading the fuck out of IDW's The Last Unicorn right now. The art is incredible!

I'm sure I do, but I can't think of any at the moment. But I do want to read The Last unicorn. This is the first I've heard of it, and I love it.

The last issue comes out next month, so it'll probably be in trades near the beginning of next year. I had to buy a variant cover of issue one 3 months after it came out. Apparently Last Unicorn sells like crazy.

if it's nearly as good as the film it's based on (or the book, I hear) it probably rules ass.

Apparently Last Unicorn sells like crazy. That's awesome. I think I'm going to be going back to a "trade only" lifestyle for a bit. I haven't purchased any comics in over a year, and I would like to start again, but doing the weekly thing will only screw me over money wise, I always end up paying $30 minimum. So, I think it'll be trades again. I need to catch up on Walking Dead anyway.

I keep buying Unwritten but I can't even remember what the point of the story is any more. I either need to sit down and read all 17 issues so far or just stop.

Rumour has it that Killer Croc is going to be the baddie in the next Nolan Batman as well. But can we really have to many humanoid homicidal reptiles? I for one don't think so.

Yep, sounds good. I'm a little surprised to see Nolan going with Croc, when he's kind of stuck to the more down to earth villains, or at least the real life possible type, whereas Croc is a little more out there, but I'm interested to see how he does it.

Yeah Croc seems incredibly difficult. He is essentially a blank slate though, the only meaningful things he's done were kill Jason Todd's parents which he later didn't actually do and it was really Two-Face, and eat Arkham guard Aaron Cash's hand. So I have to wonder where he's gonna go with it.

Yea, me too. I do hope it's more of a Batman movie this time, instead of "generic hero in a costume" story. The only thing I'm afraid of, is that using Croc and bringing in a somewhat supernatural element into the story, it could turn into more of a Batman Forever or Batman and Robin, and just make it ridiculous.

I think Nolan is too talented a film maker in general to end up with a Batman Forever or Batman and Robin debacle. I wonder if perhaps he'll go for more of a man who has made himself into a lizard, rather than a man who becomes a lizard, more this: Than this:

I'd really like to see it go that direction to be honest. Just some crazy bastard, covered in tattoos and extreme body mods to make him into a reptile, teeth filled to points, on a murderous cannibalistic rampage. It'd be the best way for Nolan to handle the character and make it fit into his world, as well as provide a different sort of threat for Bats to handle. My other favourite villain option would be Zsaz though, which would be very similiar, and also awesome for the NolanDCverse.

Oh, Zsaz would be awesome. But I think he's way too intense to put in a Batman movie. I don't think there is a way to do it without it being an "R" rating. And Warner Bros. won't let a Batman movie "R", too many kids want to see the movies.
EDIT: And if they were to do Zsaz, Ben Foster would have to play him.

Zsasz was in Batman Begins for a few seconds guys come on pay attention.
I would love a Hugo Strange story, but you really need villians who have big dramatic foils on Batman, as done with Ra's Al Ghul (Evil Batman) and Joker (Opposite of Batman). It's really hard to think of where it goes after TDK.

I think the only other villain who really feels big enough to me is Dr. Hurt, but he's pretty new I guess and you'd have to get through his nutso Morrisonian backstory.

Just read a bunch of Frank Miller's Daredevil. Is there anything as visually striking as when Elektra impales dudes with those sais? I think it really works because you're not expecting something that viscerally violent from the book, but yet it's all in your head, all you see is the end of the sai poking out the other end of the dudes' shirts.
