apparently viewership isn't that great (hovering below 1.0 in the neilsons, which means 1-2 mil viewers a night), but it's been good enough

This has quickly become my favorite show. The bomb defusing scene in the blimp episode was 100% pure gold.
"Don't you want grandkids?" "If I wanted grandchildren, I'd just scrape all of your little 'mistakes' into a pile and knit them a onesie."

I introduced my brother to it last night with the Skytanic episode. He almost changed the channel when he heard H. Jon Benjamin because he knows I have a hard on for his voice, but he stuck with it and I think he dug it.
That episode was fantastic, by the way.

A fine return to form. "Countess Von Fingerbang" made me laugh harder than it should have. I loved the little twist of Archer actually trying to be professional for once, it made for some really funny stuff.

I've been watching the first season a ton lately and I really loved the first episode of the new one, it was a good change of pace. anyone know how long this season is gonna be? I'm hoping more than 10 episodes.
also, the pilot from the DVD that's just Mole Hunt with a velociraptor in Archer's place, oh my god. I was really baked when I started watching it, got super confused, but ended up watching the whole thing. I thought it was kind of stupid at first and missing Archer's lines is kind of a bummer, but it's just so ridiculous that I couldn't help but laugh. fuckin Archersaurus.

also, the pilot from the DVD that's just Mole Hunt with a velociraptor in Archer's place, oh my god. I'm watching this right now. Fucking amazing. It's one of those things that's not funny at first, but it becomes funnier and funnier the longer it goes on. Last night's episode was pure gold. "So, can you put it in a person's brain?" "...It'd suffocate..." "Not the rabbit, you idiot." "Sweet and sour?! Might as well build an ant colony." "Len? Len?!" "Have you seen him?" "Yes, I found him. I was just yelling it down the halls to celebrate that fact." "Try not to think about the fact that there's no sink in there."

Jesus, this show is batting a thousand this season so far. Just about every line during the baby shower killed me.
"Here, I got you some dry cleaning bags and a book on SIDS."
"Uhh, I think I just did."
"Oh, it's going to be an itchy weekend."
"Give her the rabbit, Lenny." (That's two Of Mice and Men references in as many weeks)
"What's a gill?"
EDIT: The first time around, I didn't catch the reference to Woodhouse killing William S. Burroughs' wife. It's stuff like that that makes me fucking adore this show.

Yes. It's not really the same kind of show; it doesn't create a complex world of plots and character relationships the way VB does, but it's endlessly rewatchable and has some insanely bizarre/obtuse references. It's also funny as shit.

AV Club: Is there anything FX has said, “This is not okay. You can’t have this on the show”? Adam Reed: ...The only other one was Archer threw an infant, really a newborn, to disarm a villain. They said that was going a little too far. The baby was going to slam into the guy’s chest, which I’m sure is terrible for a baby. Oh my god.(Full interview: www.avclub.com/articles/adam-reed,52336/)

I'm a tiny bit bothered that this is almost exactly the same plot as the Flying Hellfish episode of The Simpsons, but 'tis a minor complaint. Awesomeness all around.
"You are going to eat SO many spiderwebs!"
"Did the Queen come out? See, this baby knows what I'm talking about."
"Water? Never touch the stuff. Fish fuck in it."
"What an ass." "Right?"
"There's no nice way of saying it: auto-erotic asphyxiation."
Cheryl chugging rubber cement made no sense, but it was hilarious.
