I think 3D Land may be the most perfect Mario game since SMW. I loved Galaxy and it's still my favorite (for now), but 3D Land is pretty much SMB, SMB3, and SM64 all wrapped into one with Galaxy's level design. The enjoyment I've been getting out of it is ridiculous. Only on the 3rd world.

I've been wanting to play a Mario game badly for the past month, so when I was home I popped in SMG, AND MY SISTER DESTROYED THE DISC!!! It freezes at the same spot in the first level every time. So now I'm bummed, because I can't find my copy of Sunshine, my SM64 has been missing for years now, and I already replayed through SMW and SMB3 this year.
Why hasn't Yoshi's Island been talked about more in here? That game is easily one of my favorite Mario games. The level design is gorgeous. I'd go as far as saying it's the best looking game on the SNES.
Katie, you know that SMB2 was a different game before it was SMB2 right? They just took out the original lead and put Mario characters instead. That might explain to you why it's so different.
Whaaaaaat! I had no idea but it explains a lot. Can you link me somewhere I can read about that? So curious.
Yoshi's Island.. I remember it being awesome when I was a kid and actually a few months ago I checked it out on ebay but I couldn't find one at a price I was willing to pay for a game I don't remember all that well. The music was so great though, I remember that pretty well.

So, after a decade, I have FINALLY finished Super Mario Sunshine. Um...the ending was a huge mindfuck. Something happens that for as far as I know, has not happened again and I hope it never does. Fun but difficult game.
