I'm only halfway through or so, but Hell and The Cure are my favorite songs so far. But this album is going to have to grow on me, I'm not immediately in love.

But this album is going to have to grow on me, I'm not immediately in love. Yeah. On my fourth or fifth listen now, The Ocean and the last half of the lyrics in Someday are really the only stand out things for me, I'm not into the cutesy electonica thing. I still love this to death and it's better than most things, I'm just sad about the lack of acoustic-y songs a la Call it Off, And Darling, Fix You Up, etc.

I always hated Call It Off.

I like Call It Off, but i'm not really fond of folkier songs, and think it would have been better if played a little more interestingly.

Yeah, I just always felt it was just a boring, flat end to that album. But maybe that's because the last two songs on So Jealous are like, a perfect end to that album.

Are there no stripped down tracks on this?

This is the first T&S album I've liked (or, well, loved stuff off of) since If It Was You.

Yeah, I'd say Hell is about as stripped down as it gets, comparatively. I do like the whole thing more with each listen.

The Sara backup vocals in Northshore just sold me on it being the best song on the record. The part that goes "something about this SOOO AAAAADDICTIVE," sounds like the "aaaaallll III neeeed to heeear" in Hop a Plane.

Okay, maybe this is a stupid question, but how can you guys tell what are Tegan's songs and what are Sara's songs?

Yeah, kinda bummed there aren't more like it because I remember Tegan saying that it was more a "punk" record all around in an interview a few months ago :/ Tanya, you can just tell the differences in their voices of who's singing the main parts. Sara's more nasally, I guess. I don't know how to describe it, haha.

I almost always prefer Tegan's songs to Sara's, and so far this album is no exception.

I THINK IT'S MINE TOO.
I really like Alligator but I would be so embarrassed for someone to hear it and think I'd listen to something that starts off, "sensitive, it's true!"

I pretty much agree with this. I'm on my second listen and I already like it more, but I'm kind of sad that this will be a dance in the car album instead of a sing in the car album.

The Cure is probably my favourite track so far. I really like this album, but it's definitely not what I was anticipating.

I'm finding that I like Tegan's songs on this album a lot more than Sara's. I generally like Sara's more.

Just got through my first listen. It'll take a few listens to get into some songs but a few jump out as favorites instantly: Don't Rush, Hell, The Cure, Northshore, Sentimental Tune and Someday. Those songs are soooooo good.
