I also found Hunx and His Punx' cassette! I freaked out, I mean I live in Ohio. How did that get here?!

Is that Hunx And His Punx a burger release? They're a 99% cassette-only label in southern california. Those burgers are very prolific in their output, and I'd imagine just as industrious in distribution. They want to put out a Lady Gaga cassette. I think there was also a Hunx And His Punx/Shannon And The Clams tour that ventured outside the west side of the continent in the last year or so.
Actually, speaking of the other way around, every now and then I find some moderately obscure midwest hardcore 7" or LP in Amoeba in Hollywood and I wonder what it's doing there. It's always just a single record hidden somewhere in the general rock section, and I've been outwardly excited about it on occasion.

Burger's been doing a lot of cool shit, they recently reissued a bunch of CLEANERS FROM VENUS tapes (the solo project of anarchist/pop artist Martin Newell in the mid 80s). absolutely a must.
Today I went to the record show in my town. Totally overwhelming, hundreds of people swarming the tables, but I managed to score the following LPs on the cheap:
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless (about time...even the reissue is out of print) Tom Waits - Blue Valentine Cheap Trick - Heaven Tonight (for 50 cents!) Gram Parsons - Grievous Angel Slayer - South of Heaven (eeeee!) Sleep - Holy Mountain (eeeeeeeeeeeee!) Neil Young - Time Fades Away

Nice score, Stephie!
I wish I had more money/time for music. I've seriously neglected music for the past 3-4 years. I think the last thing I bought was an MP3 of "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off" by Jermaine Stewart.

I bought Type O Negative's World Coming Down a couple weeks ago and the CD finally came in the mail yesterday. I can't find this anywhere online so I decided to buy the CD instead because it was cheap and I really, really wanted to hear this, haha. I'm probably going to buy a few other albums in the next few weeks, too.

amoeba is the best place for classical and jazz. i scored these for <$30:
international harvester - sov gott rose-marie claudio monteverdi - vespro della beata vergine (ensemble vocal de lausanne under michel corboz) dollar brand - african space program george enescu - various chamber music written 1895-1906 (some people that don't even have a name for their ensemble. losers.) hildegard von bingen - 11,000 VIRGINS. chants for the feast of st. ursula (anonymous 4)
i haven't listened to any of them yet. there's always a risk the interpretations are shitty, but since i only paid $3 for some of those, i won't be too bummed about it. if anyone noes a recording of the monteverdi vespri with an all male vocal ensemble, tell me pls.

I bought the Of Monsters of Men record on pink vinyl because they are actually a solid band. And I want to preorder the new Titus Andronicus because I just downloaded the leak and it's solid so far.

New GY!BE has leaked everywhere. I bought it because despite them being ardently anti-capitalist, they deserve a few bucks for their discography and awesome shows.

Made a pit stop at Rotate This yesterday in the city to grab Cheap Girls tickets and ended up picking up Milo Goes To College, How To Clean Everything, Zoo, and an original pressing of London Calling. Also got a new turntable this weekend so I'm all giddy and shit.

How's Zoo on vinyl? I need to order it soon.
Edit: Roommate's at Say Anything/MBD tonight but I'm a party pooper and tired and didn't feel like going. He picked me up the special edition of Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon though which came with the lamp and everything.

One way or another, I'm buying "All At Once" by Airborne Toxic Event tonight. I don't know how I've been oblivious to their existence over the last few years, but I just found them over the last hour and now I'm hooked.

Even though Zoo hasn't been received that great, it's one of my top 5 for the year.

Same with me, I thought it was a great album. It has such an eerie, desolate feel to it.

Funny you guys are talking about Ceremony because I saw my friend post this on Facebook yesterday.
"Listening to what Ceremony has become is like watching Mufasa die over and over again. RIP to one of the best hardcore bands of our generation."
I might be the only person who prefers their last two albums over their older shit.

Yeah, same. Not really a fan of Violence Violence, and Still, Nothing Moves You is just okay but not nearly as good as Rohnert Park or Zoo.
